By the way I also happen to buy one unit of CS918 from ShengZhen, China with wifi and bluetooth connectivity.
To my surprise I notice that it was left with only 40.4M out of a total of 536M of ROM. Pls refer bottom of screenshot. Is this correct (or normal) as I was puzzle with the figures? And for your information I did not installed much application on the unit yet.

Look forward to your release of new v1.2.0 firmware soon. Can I instal this firmware for my CS918?

hdd is 2.5 " without power adaptor, my first MK802 can read it without any problem. And i read it could see 3 TB hdd without any handicap.

what i wonder is with this custom kernel , can i fix it? because i mostly watch movies from my hdd , not internet.

by the way, i installed hw accelerated xbmc version , it played most of 1080p movies smoothly but closes suddenly, any fix for it?

hdd is 2.5 " without power adaptor, my first MK802 can read it without any problem. And i read it could see 3 TB hdd without any handicap.

Not enough power to feed a HD, so try connecting to a POWERED USB HUB.

Hi prism, you appear to have 2Gb memory which is split up in .5 and 1.5Gb. Don't know if this is normal for the mk888. Possibly the memory is filled with bloatware?

Well i updated it to 1.2.0, ethernetport is still not working. Tried 2 cable's if i plug the cable in my MK808 it works, so thats ruled out.

WIFI Works fine, but i want it to run wired, so that is still a minor

I see the mac address when ethernet enabled, but it doesnt obtain an IP automaticly (Blue light on router is on, indicating its a 100 Mbit connection)

hooked up my white external USB -> UTP connector wich gives me 60 Mbit on the MK808 doesnt work either

i also notice, that on a reboot of the system, the MAC adres changes..... isnt that weird ?


Just tested with flashing back the stock firmware......... same problem

i think this player is broken..... box was already beat up when i received it

gonna ask Geekbuying for a solution here on this problem, else this thing is going into the garbagecan. i bought it specificly for the use with ethernet in stead of wifi as a recplacement for the A200

Thank you for all your work on this k-r42 device. I want to send you a small donation but when I click on the link it goes to a pay pal site in languages I do not understand. I do not see any way to get it to English. If you can tell me how to correct this or another way to donate to you then I would like to do so.
I am also anxiously waiting for when there is a 1080p kernel for this device.

yes - its going into standby mode and if you touch the mouse its waking up. i would like a full shutdown...or better possibility to choose-shutdown or standby

no it used to do that on stock rom(cs918) but now the screen just comes right back on and I used to be able to turn on the system with the remote on stock rom.
