K-R42 Hybrid Firmware (HFW) 1.1.0 by lewy20041

I tried some other movies (MKV, AVCHD) with 720p and 1080p and passthrough audio. Didn't played smooth, stopped after 2sec, played after 1 second and again. I will figure out the details and report back.

the latest 720p-kernel which i uploaded today has 720p as default.
i even uploaded new 1080p kernel with some reverts to fix the HDMI issues

is working but on xbmc (livetv) only few seconds and the box starts freezing - had the same with mx player - i changed the kernel back and live tv runs without any problems

I tested both kernels (720p,1080p)
Both kernels give "out of range" on my tv.

The resolution was set to 1080p/60 the last time i booted with your previous kernel.
I'm thinking about putting the previous kernel back, set resolution to 720p and reflash the new kernel to see if 720p resolution work. Should be a no-go but maybe i'll try it to feed my curiocity.

Also there's a third kernel in the compressed file (kernel.img). Should i try this one too?

I reflashed this kernel and i noticed i dont have that "out of range" issue anymore.

That makes both last 720p kernels with upload dates (2013-09-14 04:48:16) and (2013-09-14 06:17:30) ok for my box.
In case you reverted something you didnt want.

ok i will be updateing first post with new ver so wich kernel do you want me to use as im lost a litle now
with so many;p

some new futures:
-reboot
-reboot recovery
-reboot bootloader (it will get you to flash mode)
-swich resolution (i will provide this firmware with 1080p kernel, if you click swich resolution it will swich to 720p, so you can wach movies in 1080p and lets say play games in 720p if you want better performance)

The last one and the one b4 had no issues with 1080p out on k-r42.

Hey Lewy20041, as a matter of interest, is it possible to have larger icons/text on the 1080p interface, even when I set the fonts to max size in settings, they are still pretty small., icons are very small, cant read stuff from 2.5m away...

To me the whole point of using android instead of windows8 is that the whole interface is legible from a distance as it is designed for a tablet/phone.

I just installed the v 1.2.2 beta (720p) on mi jesurun DX05, the remote control mappings are wrong.
I hope this can be checked in next version, this firmware is much better than the stock one.

Edit: I just noticed there's a new version uploaded just a few minutes ago, will try it when the 720p version is available.

there is switch to change resolution to 720p
its not as fast as real 720p kernel but it gave good performnance bummm
