Setting "Stay awake" in Developer Options should do the trick.


As for "turning off". Pressing Power button on remote control triggers suspend state for 100% percent. But you probably encountered two errors with custom kernels for RK3188.
First. There is a bug which cause problems with build-in USB HUB which sometime leeds to device hang.
Second. In leaked RK3188 kernel source there is no code which will drive Suspend LED. It probably needs porting "Platform GPIO Leds" from RK30 board and configuring kernel to incorporate LED trigers especialy one called "suspend".


One of funny quirks with these custom kernels is that the Power LED is driven by RK29 LCD backlight driver. Therefor if device is entering suspend mode then backlight is disabled and so Power LED. But it is rather good behavior and even allows altering Power LED brightnes from user space because that is connected to PWM GPIO.
Disabling Power LED: cat "0" > /sys/devices/platform/rk29_backlight/backlight/rk28_bl/brightness


If you realy need to power on Suspend LED then you can enable it "manualy" before entering suspend state . To do so you will need "gpio" tool. I can upload it later. Copy both files to /data directory and then use Terminal Emulator to enter these commands:

cd /data
/system/bin/busybox insmod user-gpio-drv.ko
./gpio set 284 0

Then it can go to sleep without doubts .

Hello. What is the maximum data transfer speed via cable (Ethernet (LAN)) via SMB between PC and K-R42? I have 5 mb/s. Is this normal?

video stutter

gentlemen!

i just installed 2.0.4 and 6.10.2013 nightly of xbmc on my jesurun dx05 and the video stutter after a few seconds. i can play 1080p, 720p or sd with good framerate and fluid, but after a few seconds it starts to stutter to the point it stops completely. audio goes normally. it's not a network related problem, i tried from smb and from usb3 flashdrive. http streaming 1080p and sd works well and doesn't to this (livestreams plugin for xbmc).

any thoughts?

i am using tv out because i am waiting for hdmi-vga convertor to arrive.

EDIT: nevermind me, it was a xbmc-related problem. installed gotham alfa 8 and its ok

I just downloaded the NEW Kernels and the 720p kernel is not functioning correctly.
It looks Like titling in windows ...
I shows a 720p image in a 1080p screen ...

This is with lewy's 2.0.4
I have not yet tested the 1080p kernel ...

mouse wheel not working in xbmc on the 2.0.4 firmware version..

After all is working on 720p, now it's time to make the mouse wheel working on xbmc on android.
Has someone got this problem too?

Is there any solution for this and is it a kernel problem?
or is it something in XBMC not working yet? i tried the frodo 12.2 stable version and the last nightly build version of gotham 13.0, and both the mouse wheel is nog working to scroll through my media.

Well i tried an override mouse.xml file but that doesn't work either, or i',m doing something wrong?

Can this firmware also be manipulated to make this work?

Hope someone has a solution for me?!

1080P kernel
checked for 2.0.4 does not work , all the same as before in the "mode sleep" (turn on automatically after 30 seconds with does not work usb ports), in "power off mode" is even worse than it was: after turning off usb drive does not stop spinning(the old kernel full power switched off), and does not turn on with air mouse and with buttons on the KR 42 , only helps to disconnect and connect the power cord(with old kernel :turn on with button on k-r42)

I just did and I must admit that it seems like nothing change. For me it doesn't wakeup permanently after few minutes (I didn't have time to test longer period of time) but it doesn't seem to fully suspend either. It is similar as I had before with wasser's kernel from 19th September. I think that debug messages about inability to suspend USB hub might be associated with connected specific external USB devices.
Now after triggering suspend mode I have flood in dmesg like this in the loop:

I'm using 2.0.4 and suspend is killing wifi for me. When i resume wifi never comes back up and disabling and enabling it again does not work. Does anyone else have this issue?
