Turn off screen without USB HUB disconnect.

Temporary workaround for problems with suspend.
    Execute these commands as SU:
    Code:
    echo "#!/system/bin/sh" > /etc/init.d/33PM_test
    echo 'echo "freezer" > /sys/power/pm_test' >> /etc/init.d/33PM_test
    chmod 755 /etc/init.d/33PM_test
This will set Power Management "freezer test mode" which allows sending suspend commands only to programs and not devices.

For me triggering suspend in this "freezer PM test mode" disables display and lower power consumption below 3W from 3-6W when idle. I haven't got equipment to measure with more precision.

      Gormar,that's cool I'll try today

      PS update:
works, but why can not the first time a command to start
Thanks Gormar's exactly what I wanted it to turn on with "air mouse"
now we have to find some sort of widget to turn off mass storage to "sleep",
and is just super duper cool

        Video Problems

Hello to everybody and thanks to all who helped with developing the firmware especially Lewy.
No need to indicate that I am NEW at the forum.
Out of all the HFW firmwares the only one I have no video issues with is 1.2.0.
The rest of them giving me video problems. Specially the 2.0* and above runs for a couple of minutes to 5-7 minutes with no problems then the screen gets almost all black. Reboot helps for a new start but same thing happens over.
I flashed multiple times but no help.
Did I need to do anything special when I flashed from 1.1* to 2.0*?
Or anything else to solve the problem?
        Any help will be appreciated.
        Thanks

Any info would be greatly appreciated

          Hi

I am new to this forum so first thought I would say hello and let you know it looks like fantastic work you are all doing on here to develop for these devices - WELL DONE!!!

Now I do have a query and please accept my apologies if this is a stupid question!

I have just had delivery of the MK888 from http://www.aliexpress.com/item/MK888...257645876.html (hopefully this is a good model to buy as I only ordered it as I thought I was getting 2 for that price, turns out you get one MK888 and the other part of the 2 piece lot is the remote! - people be warned)

I am wanting to flash a custom rom and from my research it seems that Lewys rom is the one to use.

I have read through this thread all 65 pages but I have to admit it is quite difficult reading as I do not yet know my way round the device and really don't want to brick it straight away. So I may have skim read quite a bit and there probably is something i have missed along the way!

It seems that v2.04 version is stable and provides glitch free video, but only if used with one of wasser's kernels but I cant work out if this is correct or if the kernel is included in the build (please correct me if I am wrong or let me know if I am almost there) But I cannot work out where to find the kernel I need or how to flash it and in what order.

Also am I correct in thinking it is better to steer clear of the XBMC nightlys and use one of the alpha builds (Im sure I have seen a post somewhere stating this from someone but cant find it again so any help would be appreciated)

I am not a developer but I have flashed numerous android roms to my last few phones so hopefully I should be able to get my head round flashing this device.

Again thanks for the hard work you are doing with this device I am really hoping I will be able to use it to replace my old pentiumD PC as my XBMX media centre. Dont know if it is worth mentioning but the TV I am using is 720P

Also on another note I would be happy if someone can help me out with instructions to put together an "idiots guide" to flashing and installing the roms and APKs on this device, I am reasonably technically minded and as part of my job have to write up instruction manuals for furniture so if you can explain it to me I can hopefully help out the community by creating a document for others to follow? Just an idea, but if I can benefit from your developer skills I would be happy to give something back using my skills.

Shouldn't your first line be the following mate? I think you have your slashes backwards

            Code:
            echo "#!/system/bin/sh" > /etc/init.d/33PM_test
            To Infinity and Beyond.... XBMC

                Xfinity

Has anyone got the Xfinity app from Google Play Store to work on the K-R42 ? Everything works fine in the app until the video is starting to load and then an error message appears that the application is corrupt.

this kernel doesn't support RTL8201F LAN chip

It's kind of sad news. Many users who receives their CS918 now have this new 2.1 revision of board with the RTL8201F LAN.
We'll wait with impatience for some improvement from developers here with solving this issue.

any changes in this kernel or more implements only solves the problem of sleep. I I have included in the init.d script that solves this problem, recommend upgrade?
