Hello cOOLio great to see you and Shomari are keeping our RK3368 boxes alive ! I flashed your firmware with given instructions and to my surprise its runs pretty stable and fast. Things working out of the box are Wifi/BT and Ethernet. Two things that arent working on my Rk3368 device are IR remote controller, i tried to copy the remote.conf from the system/etc from another box but i was unable to find it using ES File Explorer. Another thing not working is the display clock in front of my box. Any suggestions how i could get this to work would be very much appreciated on top of the awesom job you guys did. Aside of that i liked the leanback launcher integration and your rom. Keep up the good job guys, the last RK3368 saviors

RK3368 devices have no remote.conf file. Its IR remote keys are set within the kernel resource image. Therefore I need a link of a full image file of your original firmware/rom. Then I can extract the right IR key settings and add it to my KRS resource image files.

And to add your vfd display to my ROM is to complicated without having the box to test. Because I have to change to much other things, like the boot image. In addition I also have to add the right linux vfd service and the right service app to the ROM. So this is a no go for me. Sorry!

Anyway, I have another question - can I do something to set my X6's remote button to open some app? Example press number 1 to open Youtube, number 2 for KODI and anything else...? Just edit kl file or other file?

As far as I know this is only possible with 3rd party apps. Not possible while editing the keyboard layout file.

Anybody thinking have issue with Youtube? The video frame seem slow, it's not normal same stock firmware on my X6

Youtube videos works like charm for me. So no issue at all with my Z4.

I need a help on two things:

I trying to edit the Resolution Changer template list, how can I do it?

About 2160p videos, I have image problems, with horizontal lines (dark green) and video flicking, does anyone had this problem too?
Can I correct it ?
PS. When I changed the screen resolution to 1080p (HDMI mode on setup) the problem not happened.

These templates are hard coded to the app. So no way to add any template without recoding the app.

Which codec do you use for your 2160p videos?

I tried this and its good and stable rom. I have few questions
1. Regarding USB mic support. I tried USB headset to use for voice search but it didn't worked. which mic actually working with this ROM.
2. my RTC clock time is getting lost after reboot and I need to set it every time to make play store and youtube working. I already tried to use network provided NTP seriver settings but of no use. any tips to fix it. this issue is not specific to this ROM but happens in other ROM as well. Does Z4 have any battery to keep RTC time setting and that may need any change,

1. Any USB device that supports the USB HID class standard will work. So any USB device that needs its own property driver will not work.

2. Which ntp server do you use? I use a ntp pool server for my country/region from http://www.pool.ntp.org/ and I have no issue even when I reboot my box.

PERFECT ... because I spend soooo much time to get the vfd display of my Yundo Y1 to work. But right now I'm nearaly to release also my s912 - ap6330 - vfd based ATV ROM.
And nice to see that you are back

i did try the clock display resource with kernel to flash on this rom but the box wont boot up. Then i tried flashing only the clock display resource still no boot. I will wait your rom Shomari thanks buddy

Hello cOOLio , can you give me a short instruction for resource.img customization? Overall, your rom works very good for my Z4 box except the video is not working smoothly while playing via youtube cast. I don't experience the problem with Ugoos stock resource.img but my Z4 remote control/power button don't work with Ugoos resource.img. I would like to compare the configurations of Ugoos and your resource.img and see if I can fine tune the configuration to resolve the video issue.

i did some performance tests with your Rom (2.5 BRE) with my Z4 because I was curious why it performs so poor on another Yandoo Z4 (i have the same).

I will post the results later but somehow your Rom does something that kills performance on other Roms.

So here is the question, does you Rom writes something in flash areas that are not overwritten by flash erase and Firmware updates?

... you can use any diff / compare tool to inspect the files; read up on dtb/dts or Linux device tree structure as a primer, if you haven't already, or the resources themselves won't make any sense, as they can be a couple thousand lines of uncommented code.
