I am really interested if anybody else experienced this strange behavior:

According to the posts here, i made a backup with CWM and restored it. Everything working and looks normal but from this point all changes i make on the running andoird system disappears after reboot. As if every start would be a ROM flash. This would be a really good feature in a few cases, but not now Also the time is reverts to 00:00 and if i uninstall an application which should start on boot, the device won't boot.

I tried this on 3 seperate G18REF V2.2, all behaves the same. And no idea how it's possible.
If it's "normal" please recommend a ROM which can be backed up/restored with CWM and changes can be done via ADB after restore. (which will remain )

Any advise would be appreciated. In the meantime i will try the new matricom rom.
    Regards,
    Attila

I would think that you will be OK, but best to be 100% sure eh?

On that note, having asked you repeatedly on your own forum and spent three weeks trying on my own to find an answer. Could you please tell me what the mobo ref of the box I bought from you is please? I have a feeling that telling me I don't have an m6 is a lie as the hardware is the same (geniatech).

Someone will ill eventually help, the only difference is you sell your boxes with a promise of service which does not exist, don't get me started on your claimed about 'your' version of xbmc, ha!

Android tv box 4.2.1 cannot connect to my network environment

Hi Yawl I just bought an Android tv box 4.2.1. Not very familiar with this box. I also have a patriot box office, which it works great. With the Android, I cannot connect to my network environment. Is there a driver that I would have to install in PC in order to see my network? Any suggestion are greatly appreciated.

you are probably using the cwm i made which works partially. if you flashed matricom 1.6 then it will not work fine behaving like you said.

Thank you for the answer daemonium, it looks like your cwm works like you said with all the matricom ROMs. I found 2 other where after backup/restore i was able to modify the system. These ROMs can be found with the following names if anbody interested:
                -mx42_20130322p_20130629xbmc
                -g18ref-ota-20130722

Now i trying to make a custom ROM from one of the ROMs above with dsixda's Android Kitchen but i always get Installation aborted message after verification. If anyone could show me the right way to do it i would really appreciate it. I have no idea what's missing for verifying the package. It is may because kitchen doesn't provide default settings for this device? Or absolutely not this is the issue?

                Cheers

                  we are going off topic...
the installation aborted error is probably because your custom is not signed. You must sign the rom before trying to flash.
as a side note, you don't need a kitchen, it's just a zip file you can uncompress, modify, re-compress and sign.

For connecting to the G18REF via USB cable do i need any hw modification? I get an USB typeA-typeA cable connected to the rear USB port but can't see in adb. Is there any magic to make it work?
                      Thanks in advance!

I see. I can connect to ADB via WIFI without any app Just i don't have any permisson to do what i want, so i thought i try it within recovery mode. But for this i should connect via USB i guess. Or not?

if you don't have permission then root it
what do you want to do?

Well i would like to remove/add apps (and set default settings) and change all possible logos. If you can tell me what tools i need and describe the process in dummy mode i would definitely buy you a few beers

just unpack the zip, do a search for .apk files to figure out where are they located then delete/add apks.
edit build.prop under system/ as per your needs.
                                bootanimation is under /system/media
there's a file named aml_logo or something similar, usually it's just a bmp file, replace it and keep the name. this one is the second logo, the first one is built in the kernel or inside boot.img.
repack the zip when you're done and sign it with apkmultitool or similar. then you're done with the basics.
