To test just how strong any radio waves may be then try moving the box further away from the router to see how far away it has to be before the problem dissapears.

You could also see if it's possible to place some form barrier between the devices, such as putting it in a tin foil lines box, which may seem odd but may help to at least demonstrate whether this is a likely issue.

Also look at your electrical outlets and whether you have cables wrapped around each other, coiled in a way that can generate a strong magnetic field.

It may also be worth having the least amount of things plugged in to see if there is still an issue and then plug the rest in one by one to see if any one starts the effect again.

Never plug in or remove and HDMI cable into/from a device that is powered on.

HDMI may well be hot plug-able, there can be circumstances where incorrect pin alignments, can result in some damage to equipment.

The buzzing may be due to ground loop but it seems that this can get quite complicated.

Ok, so I hard bricked the MECOOL M8S PRO after flashing it, but not force erase.. I managed to get back in using the "Shorting pins" methods. Restored my backup using the twrp recovery and I am back to stock.
My whole rooting and downgrading Quest started out trying to get an App working which, although I am not rooted, keeps on telling me I am and no matter what I try, root cloak etc I cant get around it.
Anyone have any suggestions? I was wondering if it isn't due to the build no "Test Keys" at the end?

I'm not sure if the shorting pins information is available elsewhere and if not I'm sure that others might benefit in future if you can tell them which ones they would need to short should they encounter a similar issue.

Hi Again, the shorting pins method can be found here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fkKgvx7f1vQ its not very precise, its trial and error, just ensure the USB cable is connected and play with the pins until you hear the PC pickup the usb device.
                      Hope this helps....
NOW.....HELP me with my APP please....anyone.............

Its an app called DSTV Now. I am a valid subscriber, it works on on my mqx pro box running Android 5, and on my LG G6, but no way on the Mecool.

So, I built a signed updater that installs TWRP Recovery v3.1.1-0 for Amlogic q20x reference boards like the Mecool M8S Pro. Could folks please take a look and let me know what you think?

                            twrp.q20x-3.1.1-0-signed.zip

To install, just copy the .zip file to an SD card, run the UPDATER app, hit Local Update and select the local .zip file. No need to wipe data or cache. The machine will reboot and install my TWRP recovery, just like an OTA update. With TWRP now installed, you can follow the instructions here to root the device.

Note: The one issue I've been seeing with this TWRP build is a loss of video sync on startup, which can be remedied by unplugging the HDMI cable and reconnecting it. Please let me know if you hit this problem, as I'm working on a fix.

UPDATE: I believe I've fixed the display blanking issue, and I've also included an fstab tweak that seems to allow the latest Magisk to install.

HI Magendanz, I will test this tonight and let you know, I see you are the Rom developer....could you have a look at my post #101 and #102 and give me some suggestions?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the DSTV Now app, nor have I developed any custom ROMs for the M8S Pro (yet). You might get some hints from the logcat, though.
