1.Should be the same, pictures are posted in this forum of other boxes(can't really see yours from here)
2.&3. When firmware(SCV4) is loaded in USB Burn Tool, select >Erase Flash and > Erase boot Loader. I believe superceleron's firmware has key embedded. Just a note, sometimes USB Burn Tool will start up with
several boxes ticked...start up again or just select the two mentioned boxes.
Thanks for your reply ReaperMan I'll try to flash this rom today after work, btw and I hope not to abuse by asking too much, what's the easy method for rooting this device? Any suggestions?

      @ eLpELoN,

Google wants to own you your Android device. They are configuring ways to block root.

Easy method, SuperSu from the play store.

Mostly easy, with more developer modules, Magisk v.14

Research if you want root and choose one that suits your need. (I originally just wanted to copy and paste files into Kodi folders.)

        Hey guys

I'm new here and from germany.
I apologize for my english in advance!

Yesterday my H96 Pro plus with Android 7.1.2 was delivered and i have some questions because i'm a little bit unhappy with the stock rom.

        -many crashes
        -no 4K in Youtube
        -no custom Launcher (all crashes)
        -no Wallpaper (Crash)
        -no Android UI possible
-no Volume change with remote when i look fullscreen videos
        -most games and apps crashes

        and so on.

        My questions are:

        1.
Is this rom in this thread a modified rom from the original 7.1.2 stock rom?

        2.
Is it possible to customize the remote buttons?

        3.
Can i choose the original android launcher with this rom?

        4.
can i change the boot animation?

        5.
This rom is compatible with my H96 Pro+ right?

        6.
Do i have to flash the SCV4 IMGfirst and after that the SCV6 OTA?
Or do I have to consider what before?
I found this thread but there it says something with SCV2 and SCV3?

        7.
If there are updates can i update simple with the android updater or do i have to flash it again?

        many thanks!

Thanks Superceleron i just figured out that i can actually acces TWRP by holding reset button and then pluggin in the power cord but good to know that i can do it through update app az well great rom BTW, and it seems that with this one i wont be needing any extra cooling mods (temps never hit more than 60-some degrees)

Guys i am at v4, i would like to update over the update app to v6, i select v6 but when i start the box is shutting down and nothings gonna doing. the same is when i try to install magisk.
how can we root v4? i´ve tryed to install supersu from playstore but there is no root, i am really confused about it.
i allso tried over terminal emulator "reboot recovery" but nothings working.

Hmm really odd, because MX player recgnizes the audio track as 5.1 he-aac but output on my receiver is only 2.0

                      @ MichalMikeyMike,

Mx Player settings> Audio> 3 Choices for output. Did you try these settings?

I've not unboxed my Onkyo since it came back from HDMI repair, so I'm not a good source of info.
I'm probably wrong, but I thought Optical Output was needed also...to get surround sound. Something I read in Tronsmart or MiniX(?) forums years ago.

                        @ Spevil,
When you try the Update app, does your box boot to TWRP. If it does, choose> Install and locate your SCV6 flash(zip). Just use the "Slide" button to install and it should only take a short while to complete and then reboot.
Same process if you want to install Magisk v.14 (zip) root after you have already installed SCV6.

                          @ Mittns,

Don't apologize in advance. It gives away that you are about to cause trouble..LOL

                          1. Modified.
                          2. Djmulder is trying to do the same. There is an apk in the Tools section in these forums(?) to Remap remote buttons. Not sure if available in Playstore.
                          3. Light Home(???)
                          4. Might be the Amlogic Tool (?) in Tools section? Not sure if compatible or if it can lead to a boot loop?
                          5. Yep, yep.
                          6. Yep, SCV4 IMG and >Update/Install through TWRP SCV6 Ota (zip).

Just tried spdif borrowed from my friend and same thing happens, tried every setting in the palyer as well as android sound settings, could be the audio codec in the file? I'll try one coded in ac3 tomorrow and see how that goes.

                              ReaperMan

                              Thanks for your reply.
I installed v6 with TWRP and v4 with the usb burning tool after i bricked it accidentally with the burn card maker because i erased the bootloader.
But now it works except the OTA updater.
I always get the Check failed Server agent error.
Is there a way to fix it?

Is the Magisk v.14 the root tool for this rom?

OTA Updater...no company has set up a server(I heard a rumour of one(true?)). So..Local Update with superceleron's firmwares has been the best choice.

I believe SuperSu can be installed, I've installed Magisk. I've had problems with Titanium Backup and Magisk(v.13)..so try and see what serves best.
I really like the modular system of Magisk.
