BTW - does your TV support 1080p60Hz? This is the default for SCV6 (I guess) after successful update. But then you should see "no signal" or similar not "black screen"...

I used this box (for installation purposes only) on my small TV (HDTV ready - so no 1080p support) and learned this the hard way Reinstalled the FW several times before tried on my main TV And I waited for 30+ minutes for picture to pop up every time with no luck

Previous versions were "auto res", but latest (and the best one ) defaults to 1080p60Hz - at least on my set...

Try connecting to an lcd display and change it to lower res.

OTA is successful only if you see TWRP perform OTA installation and you see "success" message in TWRP. And after that box reboots and first boot can take long time (I would wait at least 15 minutes to be sure)...

You can go to TWRP using toothpick method... Does this work for you? You should see TWRP interface...

If you can go to TWRP, then you can install OTA from there - just select INSTALL and select the OTA zip from USB stick/SD card... You will probably need a mouse and/or keyboard for navigating in TWRP...

I will try flash OTA zip file through TWRP interface (initiate with toothpick). My TV support 1080/60p, than i don't expect any problems after flashing.

Hello, i have similar problem with "new revision" of Alfavise h96 pro plus 3/32GB from Gearbest action. Mine use Toshiba flash chip. (maybe some re soldered old chip...)

I flashed V4 img with toothpick/microSD card method. In my case was necessary to hold the toothpick button whole flash time. Than flashing was successful. (without holding of button - freezing )

Android seems working ok but the option in shutdown app "reboot into recovery" don't work. OTA into V6 is now impossible.

Note: By burning of image into microsd card I checked all checkboxes in "Burn Card Maker" program and "forcelly erase" option. Maybe this was not good idea....

Mine was the same, i needed to hold the reset button to flash from sd card. But mine is an older version from 02/2017 and from the pictures only the antenna is different mine has and dipole barrel type.
Mine OTA was unsuccessful from the update app, but if you press the reset button(box off) and connecting power and then release the reset you will go in the recovery, from there you can install the OTA zip from usb. Hope this helps.

I installed AlfaWise H96 PRO+ 3/32 and 3/16 - SCV3-ATV 7.1.2 (DDR3/DDR4 - ANDROIDTV VERSION) file and all is working, besides Netflix app from Google Play Store and a PopCorn Time TV version I found (but the android normal one for smartphones and tablets is working, but no good interface without mouse).

I don't know the difference between this rom and the AlfaWise H96 PRO+ 3/32 and 3/16 - SCV6 7.1.2 (DDR3/DDR4 and 9377 Wifi Chipset).

Should I change it? Why?

I have a H96 Pro+ + 64 GB ROM.

Yes i know about the 720p problem with some tv's ( i dont have problems on my 720p tv that i use for the tests that is why i dint notice it) and is a kernel bug that is reading wrong the EDID of some tv's!

Tried this one right above me here (aml_7.1_s912_q9377-H96PROPLUS_KDMC_mac-20170826) in USA on a Banggood H96 unit with 9377 and 3g ddr3 and it's rooted but can't change launchers and that's why I'm going thru all this updating. By the way, does any body know why these units give you that popping noise every now and again when I use the mouse to click on something (it's annoying)?

Am I the only user to have 2 settings apps?
I have it set up so the screen stays awake in one settings but the other doesnt have that option and has a 2hr max.
Tried freezing the 2hr limit version in Tb and it runs ok until you reboot the box.
Then goes into a bootloop.
Dirty flash of v6 doesnt fix it. Reinstall v4 then update works but means setting up from scratch.

I thought I was the only person here having a problem with OTA updates to SCV6... but I was wrong. Many people here seem to be having the same problem with updating their ROM's beyond SCV4.

I have had no problems updating ROM's using USB BURNING TOOL on my H96 PRO PLUS.... So Can I make a request? - Make your next ROM (SCV7) as UPDATE-able by BOTH Methods: an IMG file and ZIP file(?) or (SD Card and USB Burning Tool-?)

I'm stuck at SCV4... OTA updates will not work for me, and TOOTHPICK method does NOT work either (Stuck on SUPERCELERON Logo Screen!)

I really would like to try updated ROM's, now that you have them available - but this is getting frustrating.

Has ANY ONE come up with a solution I can use for updating from SCV4 to SCV6? THANKS in advance! (Bear in mind, SD Card and booting to RECOVERY isn't working!)

guys i finally recieved my usb cable, and i'm trying to flash, but cant get it to work.
when i connect usb to the pc the led comes up, but nothing happens?
is there a trick?

i already tryied to use usb 2.0 driver on a fusion windows 10 64bit, no luck, a windows small laptop with windows 10 64bit, same issue..
can you guys help?
