My guess is the fan is using too mich power from the USB and the last one can't handle it when it comes to plugging another source to it.

Ok, I removed the resistor and then conntected the fan up to the other usb on the bottom of the board and everything is good. No issues not sure what’s up but all good.

So you are running your box without a resister?? How is the fan noise?

I am now running both boxes without the resistor. I can’t hear the box running over the tv when something is on the box playing. So no I can’t hear it.

What's the default voltage of this fan? 12V?

What is this!!?! lol ... To what extent are we willing to sacrifice our boxs for a slightly better result?

Hi P.X and everyone who helped me. I come here to thank for the help and contribution of everyone. Thank you! I finally got the guts to mod my M8S Pro in the right way. I made a round hole in the lid!

I had already tried to make only a few holes in the lid, aldim that looked like a happy little face, but it did not solve much, besides making a lot of noise not cooled well. So I decided to put into practice the experiences of P.X.

The result was the best I have achieved so far, it does not make much noise, only if I am using the box with the mouse, at quiet times as at night it seems that there is a fan on nearby, nothing to bother much.

I used my 30x07mm fan in the pads of the memory card (3.3v), I made the solder points through the bottom of the board, it took a lot of work to fix but everything went well. I used double-sided tape to attach the wires to the bottom of the card.

Temperature varies from 39°c to 41°c at rest and reaches 45°c or 48°c in games, for me this was the best tesulresu to date. I do not know yet, and it is possible to do better without changing the heatsink and the thermal paste. In the future I will tell.

That CPU Cooler and fan looks great. Question is how big is the footprint ??? 40x40 is absolute max at 45° to normal and those heat pipes are a bit worrying !
Simple is best, but BIG is fun ...
