Fan underneath does nothing to the heat sink.

If a fan underneath does nothing then explain why it decrease temperature by 10°C on a Pro+.

Of course it does a lot, it removes hot air from the box, because the plastic case works as an insulator

Better on top of the heat sink for sure.

Of course on top will be better, but again less aesthetic in my opinion.

The one without the footings doesn't make much difference in result, but is a little noisier because it makes the blade vibrate. The footings are 2 cm, which i consider a bit high and not needed, so will look for half or less that size

That's more aesthetically displeasing as side fan to me .

Who cares what you think, it has gotten pretty obvious to me from all your posts on this forum, that only your solutions are the only ones that are acceptable.

So far results are good! Idle temp is around 43degC and load temps while watching 4k is 56degC. Before with the stock heatsink I was getting up to 80deg C!

5v is to loud for me so I think I'll open it back up and resolder to a 3.3v source.

                  Here's a link to the unit, although the one I purchased was on E B A Y - Just search for "AP3505LB-J70(S)"

I guess you can just solder a resistor on the feed.

                      Reasonable (ish) price in US
Way too much from aliXpress ($25)
                      POA in the UK !

I'd fit a resistor, or one of those little <$1 Buck driver things ...

                      Nice looking fan/HS

Got a pic of the box with the lid on ? Great looking fan with a plate.

I'll get a pic of everything once I get it resoldered. I didn't drill holes or anything. The way the heatsink is designed I decided to just let the side vents do the job. It's very clean and works very well imo!

So, it's thin enough to clear the cover?
Yeah, the side vents on this box is pretty good at least.
Just did the OTA updates. Fixed my youtube problems.

Yes, only 8mm tall. Cover is fully closed with room to spare.

                                DAMN!
                                Sold!
                                Thanks.
Is it quiet enough with the top cover on? No need to reduce speed?
