Oh, that's right. As your ROM asks for the OTA 1.0.1 I thought it wasn't embebbed in that ROM.
Is there any way to get back the 3G widget? Now, if you turn off the 3G modem and reboot the tablet, you can't pass the lockscreen (PIN code isn't works).
Also, I would like to know if we can get the battery percentage in the status bar (I don't like the battery apps) and If you can remove the buid.prop line "persistance time zone= Asia/Shanghai", as the Arctablets Forum custom roms.
Thank you very much indeed.

I'll take a look at the widgets and see.
My favorite battery mod is something you can do on your own. You need an app called Xposed Installer. It will run scripts and UI mods.
Go to this site:
Ultimate online theme kitchen for Android phones, UOT Kitchen, Customize your phone online, Custom and stock roms
Go to the kitchen tab and create a battery mod from the choices and have it create an Xposed module to download and run on your system. I like the circle battery with the percentage in the middle.
I prefer doing this instead of messing around with UI adjustments in my ROM's, because not everyone likes what I pick...hahahah!!!!!Randy

Randy
While lying in bed last night, I thought of a few things I hadn't mentioned which may throw some light on my situation.
1. I believe I now have the full RileyROM set (don't know what happened the first time).
2. I believe I have the correct drivers installed as the M9 is recognised by both Finless's batch tool and by Pipo's RKBatchTool. Note that RKBatchTool says that the chip is "RK31".
3. When erasing the IDB, it erases 4096, not 16384.
4. The very first time I connected the M9 to the pc (when trying to install the Pipo's "M9pro_EN_N03G_update_20130906.img"), the M9 screen indicated that it was connected to the pc and asked something about USB storage, which I accepted.Ever since then, the screen has ALWAYS been blank, no matter what I do.
5. Ever time I try to flash (either RileyROM v1.7a or the official update), I can get the batch tool to recognise the M9 by using ESC/Reset/Power in the correct sequence, but the end result is always the same. The screen always remains blank during the whole process.
How can I confirm the tablet model that I have (I ordered a M9Pro)?
The number on the back is :-
P10M9N13062366 (16GB)
Once I have confirmed which model I have, I will try all the other ideas you have mentioned.
Thanks Randy and everyone for helping.

The tablet screen will always stay black during the flashing process. The only feedback you get is on the flash tool. When the flash is complete the tool will say complete. There will be a hesitation of several seconds, but you will eventually see the Pipo logo (if using stock recovery) or the RileyROM logo (if you flashed CWM recovery). The stock recovery will format your data space/internal sd and then reboot to the system. Then you should see the boot animation.
All of that only happens on the first boot. From then on, you should only boot into the system.Randy

Thanks Randy.
I'm using the M9 to pc cable that came with the tablet. I have tried another and the pc didn't recognise a connection at all.
Currently downloading 1.7a on another computer and will try and flash from there.
While trying to do a flash recovery, if I push Reboot to Flash Mode, I get a message "Device can not do switch, because it is not a msc device." But the recovery flash appears to work fine in the batch tool, it's just that the M9 is still a brick.
I'll keep trying.
Thanks for your patience.
I've contacted Pipo with my serial number to try and confirm which M9 I have (I bought it from GeekBuying).

It clearly says Max-M9!!!!!!!
I ordered the tablet about 3 months ago. I'm certain I ordered a M9Pro.
I even downloaded the M9Pro manual (there was none in the box).
In my excitement to get hold of my new toy, I missed the fact that it was a Max-M9.
CAVEAT EMPTOR!!!!!!
So, as I thought I had a M9Pro, I downloaded the appropriate update firmware (including Randy's RileyROM v1.7a) for the M9Pro.
I have now downloaded Randys RileyROM v1.9a for the Max M9 and low and behold, I have a fully restored M9 with all of Randy's bells and whistles.
I am so sorry I've wasted so much of everyone's time on this forum, but I would like to thank everyone who helped me and gave advice - especially Randy who was so patient.
Cheers

Most likely your rockchip driver (specifically rockchip boot loader driver) is not properly installed. This to me was the most painful part of the process. This is the poor design from rockchip and Pipo because the driver does not have an install and is a double challenge to get it force feed down Windows 7's throat.... RILEY laid out great instructions, follow them step by step....

As an afternote to me getting my Max-M9 mixed up with the M9Pro, I had a reply from Pipo today after I sent them the serial number of my tablet. They confirmed that my tablet was a M9Pro.
Randy guessed that it wasn't a M9Pro, so I don't know how Pipo could say that it WAS a M9Pro!!!!!
Randy is God!!!
PS I'm trying to talk my wife into letting me buy a M9Pro.

new m9 pro owner
hi, just got myself a m9pro wifi and installed rileyrom (1.7b). on first trial the wifi had issues with disconnects. then flashed oma and reflashed rileyrom again when oma threw other issues (couldnt boot). This time around the rileyrom runs just fine and wifi is stable. Bit funny behavior i can t explain.
One function i'm missing: I have a himedia q5 and that one has in the settings a section network services where i can set mount points to my NFS drive as well as a decent explorer tool which can connect to NFS drive. Since i use the tablet as media player i'm a bit struggling how to connect to a network drive... otherwise all good so far.
