      Hi,
Guest thank you for your ROM's and explanations.
My device has V0828.20181122 version and there is a wifi issue (I don't know hardware or software issue. box doesn't find any wifi signal) on it.
So, I have tried your last and before roms (20181109) with using usb burning tool but software not changing even downgrade (from 1122 to 1109) to back to fabric settings but no lock so far.
It has always on v1122. So, is it possible to delete everything and back to zero point?

      Thank you.

Yes, just use the Amlogic burn package (.img file) for the 20181122 OEM firmware with USB Burning Tool or Bootcard Maker. Here's a link: http://freaktab.org/d25b68ce39d56a87

I think we'll have to settle for the 540p. And he hopes that from here to a time not even that ...

One thing. When you turn off the KM9 and keep the red light, I try to turn it on with the remote and there is no way. Does it work for you to turn it on with the remote? I have to remove the power cord and plug it back in

The KM9 hardware is the best TV box hardware for the price that's available on the market today. With the Amlogic S905X2 and the u211 reference hardware, you've got Ethernet, 5G WiFi, Bluetooth 4.2, MicroSDXC, LPDDR4 RAM, 32GB eMMC, four decent Cortex-A53 CPU cores and a smooth Mali-G31MP2 GPU. They've also followed our lead here in FreakTab and abandoned the clunky Chinese TV box launcher for a *real* Android TV "Leanback" Launcher. It's now pretty damn close to the curated Android TV experience that Google designed for the Nexus Player and nVidia Shield TV.

They even got Widevine L1 DRM keys from Google to allow many streaming media apps like YouTube TV to play, which is more than any other Chinese ODM has bothered to do. The glaring exception is Xiaomi, but they're running on much weaker hardware and they basically ceded the entire software UI design and device certification to Google.

VideoStrong did drop the ball in three areas:
                • PlayReady DRM keys, which are required for Amazon Prime Video
                • Google Cast device certification
                • Netflix device certification
The real problem here is Netflix and their new aggressive white list policy. Device manufacturers are being asked to pony up millions just to obtain Netflix certification, so they can deliver content that Netflix's subscribers are already paying to access. This is what strikes me as wrong!

The enemy here isn't VideoStrong (Mecool), it's Netflix. As a subscriber, I already pay for that content, so they shouldn't be asking me to pay again when I buy an Android TV box. This is the kind of greedy move that monopolies pull when they figure customers have no choice but pay more. There are alternatives, though, and a smart move by VideoStrong would be to add PlayReady DRM so that Amazon Prime Video can offer Netflix some competition on their platform.
I think Mecool changed hardware already. My box came with version ending in 20181111 or something like that, any way I updated to the 20181122 using the img that you posted. I never tested the WiFi function before swapping firmware, but now I wanted to test something, but the WiFi will not stay "on", so no WiFi at all. I am guessing they changed the WiFi module.

Edit: Sorry, just re-read your post 1028 and you said you have corrected that issue. I am downloading it now, and will test again........... thanks.....

Edit 2: WiFi working and working great. However, this box is still a piece of crap, especially coming from Mecool. The voice remote ONLY works now and again, it worked this morning after being powered off for a few days. But a couple of hours later, it quit working again. Plex and Emby will NOT play most of my Videos, and the live TV streams only have audio, and a frozen picture. Kodi will play, most items, but none of my movies that are encoeded with VC-1, and that includes my "Back to the Future " BlueRay rips....... And this box will NOT play any HD audio.

This box will play my 4k UHD encoded movies, using Kodi, but that is the only saving grace (but again no HD audio). At this point in time, since there is NO LibreELEC port for it, it is destined to be put in my dead boxes drawer.

I restored a Twrp backup of a beelink GT1 mini rom modded for the x96 Max because I forgot to backup with Twrp and the wifi is heaps better double the speed on 2.4ghz wifi. I'm glad it's a software issue that will be fixed one day. Just going to use this rom until a custom rom comes out. There are some bugs but atleast I can watch twitch full quality now.

I have a high bitrate 4K movie that buffers while playing using Kodi. I have to use my USB 2 gigabit ethernet adapter, in order to play this movie without buffering.

Edit: I have to make one more comment. With this device connected to my 5GHz WiFi, there is NO buffering. So, if you have a good wireless router that supports the 5GHz wireless band, it is a better option then the 100 Mps Ethernet connection. I did not test the 2.4GHz connection.

                          - Interlaced Live TV
                          - video VC-1 encoded

Those are standard ongoing video playback issues with ALL AMLogic chipset Android devices. It's exactly why demanding AML users use bug fixed (AMcodec) - LibreELEC or CoreELEC.

Those VC-1 playback and deinterlaced bugs have not been fixed by AMLogic in a long long time now, especially when you use Android Mediacodec / EXO player video hardware decoding.
They are obviously Not high priority fixes for AMLogic's Android devs.

As for Plex, well they have an App on virtually every device known to man - But getting it to work nicely is a whole can of worms because support is spread so thin..
Use the MrMC App if you can, that has Plex server database compatibility.

                          - HD Audio with Kodi Krypton onwards --> seems AMLogic Oreo 8.1 has dropped the required IEC61937 audio standard patches that are in previous AML Android Nougat and Oreo 8.0 and are definitely required by Kodi.
Same Krypton / Leia HD audio issues as the updated Oreo 8.1 Mi Box S

The previous Gigabit Ethernet - AML S912 Android Nougat - dual boot LibreELEC / CoreELEC - devices with Widevine L1 DRM are definitely more flexible and capable media players for the DIY hacker types.

Thanks for that information, as usual. Mecool really dropped the ball with this device, and that is a shame.

I thought the wifi was fixed when I restored a beelink GT1 mini twrp backup but it was working better because I hadn't connected the remote with Bluetooth. Looks like connecting the remote with 2.4ghz Bluetooth and being connected to 2.4ghz wifi makes the speed half speed. If your like me and only have 2.4ghz wifi just turn Bluetooth off to get full speed.
