There are two recovery zips I have, you can test which works for you. Since you wont be flashing the twrp img, so there is no fear of bricking the box. All that you will do is boot into the twrp recovery temporarily, make you backup on sdcard and exit.

Open these zips and take the recovery.img out.

Then follow the steps in this post to boot your twrp.

Make your backup and restart the box. Then you can flash anything.

You can even uninstall previous kodi and install again. that way you get latest kodi

hi, I'm trying this firmware X96Max_V311_4G_190302_to_H96MaxX2, I have two problems not very important, luckily, I would like to understand if these bugs are valid for all or only for me:
1. I can't turn off the device, basically it turns off but restarts by itself.
2. in the screensaver settings I set the suspension after 3 hours, then it is not possible to turn on the device by remote control, I necessarily have to disconnect and reconnect the power.

I have this Android box also, my problem is I am using Nova launcher And for some reason I am on able To drive my apps on to my home screen. Everything else works fine with Nova launcher except that. Can someone explain to me How I can put my custom apps on my front screen.?

in Nova Launcher, there is only one way to drag-and-drop icons to the home screen on Oreo 8.1. first of all, you will need a mouse, or touch screen. then you go into the app drawer, and click on the search bar. Search for your app you would like to bring to your home screen. Once you find it, that searched app, it will now be draggable. If you long press it, before you drag it. You also get the classic menu for editing

Boot into twrp. Remove power. Press Reset button in AV hole and replug power, keep holding reset button while plugging power for 5 seconds and you will boot into twrp.
Then make your backup.

the twrp recovery must be present in the micro sd.
