The strangest thing here is that the stock firmware is not loading on your tv box!
Maybe your tv box is not an original one and that's why you are facing these issues with the original stock firmware!
So i think it will be wise to contact with your seller to give you the right one!

Just tried the Tr99 Android Pie on this box. It works but the video in Kodi seems too bright and kind of faded color, MX player crashed, VLC had too much color saturation and was tinted a pink to purple color, it's also not rooted. Back to HK1.

Nope. Kodi is just fine and works great. Mx player works fine. I dont use VLC. You can root it yourself from recovery. It doesn't have wifi so many wont like it.

Its only for you if you dont use wifi. I need to learn porting wifi. I found a tutorial (out of so many i have tried already) again. I will try it tonight.

I never use wifi, at least on these cheap boxes.

How the heck do you root Pie? I can't find a TWRP recovery for it, Magisk and SU, won't install from stock recovery.

I dont think it will work though. mostly just copy paste. And the guide is general. I doubt it will work even for oreo, good luck trying it on pie. I will try it but dont have my hopes up. And I will keep looking for more tutorials.

Sorry I was talking about general rooting. I havent rooted my pie firmware. I was supposed to try yesterday but drinking and friends took all my time, I will try it tonight.
