picked up this "H96 MAX X2" off of amazon recently and I've only been able to find one firmware that has worked on the device

I found the firmware here "aml_s905x2_H96Max_4g_mac_wifi_lpddr3_20190305" ; Other link to firmware for reference here

Silkscreen on the actual board say:

• s70-905x2-v3
• 2019-02-18

Images that havent worked:

At one point I bricked the device but I was able to short out the nand and flash it

Does anyone know what other images I can use ?

The firmware that worked for your box has "lpddr3" in the filename... never seen an H96 Max X2 (or S905X2 box for that matter) have LPDDR3 instead of the usual DDR4. That would explain why the other firmwares don't work for your box, they are meant for the 4GB DDR4 box.

What do you mean "images that havent worked"?

When I used those images I would get the error message 0x10401001 Romcode/BL2_boot stage error, at 3% when I flashed with USB Burning Tool v2.1.7.0
When I would flashed:

1. Load img file
2. Leave the default check boxes in the burning tool(Erase Flash and Erase bootloader checked)\
3. Click Start
4. Plug in USB cable
5. USB Device connects - Windows plays sound
6. Flashing begins
7. usb device quickly disconnect - Windows plays sound
8. Usb Device connects again - Windows plays sound
9. Flashing fails at 3%

I've tried flashing multiple times and ive tried flasing with and without the ac adapter plugged in

All those firmwares work for most of us. You may be having some other box or a clone.
Did you use, full format and erase bootloader?

Check your box specs with cpu-z. If it has ddr3 ram then raise a dispute with amazon. Because you have been hoodwinked.

So I finally tried the TR99 Android 9 firmware and it's the ONLY firmware that doesn't have video stutters in the youtube mobile app for me, and I've literally tried them all. It's too bad that there aren't wifi drivers for this box, there's no root and the official google app doesn't seem to work on this firmware. The settings are also very basic, but it has the bare minimum. Hopefully a fully supported firmware gets released for our box, with more fleshed out settings, and upper and lower bars.

Download and flash from twrp. Download and put the zip in thumb drive. In twrp, select install. Select storage and choose your thumb drive. Select the new downloaded SuperSU zip. And swipe to flash it. After its done. Unplug and replug the box. If it boots fine, check app drawer. If all has gone well, SuperSU app will appear. If it hangs at boot or fails to boot, then boot twrp and restore your backup. Report after doing either of these.

Hi which rom did u use? After flashing the box is not root? Does it suit for 4gb/32gb? I am looking for a rom that does not have root after flashing.

Flash this one then. If flashing this gives an error, you will need to restore your backup. If no error then proceed below

Then boot the device. And flash this second one.

After this, boot up and check for su in xbin. If its not present, then your device is unrooted.
