Justxbmc just works! Thanks you. Small problem I can't figure out my screenresolution is 1920 X 1008. I want to change to 1080, going in XBMC to settings video output don't have an option to change screen resolution. My x7 settings output mode is 1920x1080p-60.

I know the 1008 is for the status bar at the bottom but I manually hide that.

Yea it has to do with the autohide function of the bottom taskbar. With taskbar = 1008, without = 1080.

            Hi Lewy20041,

I just thought i'd let you know that i have now flashed most of the ROMS and this is my favourite but, i need to now spend some time understanding how to put new addons into XBMC. Great job!

I realise that most people here have a much better knowledge than me but as a noob my request would be for pre-loaded addons to save me having to load these. I had a look at the stock oo8 Minix Firmware (latest release) and i saw it had some preloaded addons (if thats the correct term?), can you do this in the next release?

My Rii Mini i24 air mouse works great with this ROM, this is also a big plus for me.

Last thing, i know this is only for XBMC but could you include a button in XBMC or at the bottom of the screen to allow users to go to a single home page which could be loaded with useful apps. Probably outside the scope of the intention of this ROM but i think it would be a great option.

Anyways, I better go off and do some reading so i can figure out how to get my addons working in XBMC.

            Once again, thanks, top class.

unable to go into flash mode

Hi All, I have installed Justxbmc on Minix Neo X7 and I have noticed that when I press the reset button and power button the device boots up in CWM recovery and not in flash mode and so I am unable to flash other firmware.

How can I boot in flash mode again?

                Thanks in advance,
                Simone

problem with MINIX A2 AIRMOUSE on x7 justxbmc

I have bought a MINIX A2 air mouse and i have been testing it on my minix neo x7 (justxbmc fw).

I noticed that when the usb antenna is connected to the X7 video playback (mx player and xbmc) is very slow. When usb antenna is not connected everything is OK.

Has anyone experienced the same problem?

                  thankyou

Got a question, is there any way for me to remove your justXBMC stock screen and replacing it with the Beyond XBMC apk? (i hope that question is not offensive). EDIT - i've asked Flumpster creator of Beyond XBMC to look at this for me.

I love your ROM, its the best but I think the Beyond XBMC is the best and simplest version of XBMC for a noobie like me and i need things simple for the family.

I have already loaded the Beyond XBMC app to your justXBMC ROM and can select this via Android Apps in the Program section. But, if there is any way of deleting your justXBMC and replacing it with the Beyond XBMC app so it boots directly to this can you let me know. I'll need some step by step instructions if its possible.

I'd love to see you adopt the Beyond XBMC app for your ROM.

Okay, I have got this up and whizzing now.

This is my set up, I have your justXBMC ROM with Flumpsters Beyond XBMC Beta 1.1 launcher (so it launches to Beyond XBMC on start up) and i have loaded the Finless 1.8 kernel with 1.8Ghz CPU, 600Mhz GPU and 800Mhz DDR3 MEM as per Killerdudes post on page 12 of this thread.
                      Love it!!

I noticed a tremendous performance improvement with the Finless 1.8 kernel. Mostly, i can see a substantial reduction or complete removal of the requirement to buffer, particularly on Irish TV video.

This is perfect for the family who just want to turn it on and be able to quickly and easily watch video or listen to music. I can also quickly get into apps, setting or the internet if i need to but i prefer to keep them out of there and on the basics so nothing gets messed up.

I'm keen for any future versions of this ROM or simliar its a winner. The launch to XBMC is terrific.

Thanks, I can follow instructions, its just like baking a cake.

But the more i learn the more questions pop into my head, can anyone answer these

                          1. Will the method Killerdude explained for flashing the Finless 1.8 kernel work for any kernel or is this only suitable for the Finless kernels (ie so i can play around with other kernels). Oh and before i do this, if it is possible and i flash a non compatible kernel can that brick my Minix Neo X7? (best to know the answer to that one).

                          2. Why did Killerdude select the Finless 1.8 overclocked 720p kernel and not the 1080p kernel or some other kernel?

                            ^

                            1. All kernels flash the same way and a non-booting kernel won't brick your device. Just flash a new kernel. The ROM also includes CWM recovery which doubles the security against accidental bricking.

                            2. Kernels are a personal preference. Also, maybe Killerdude doesn't have a FullHD TV and 720p is the highest progressive display mode the it supports.

Nice one, thanks for explaining Molle.

Well, i've got 2 x full HD TV's so i am going to test the Finless 1.8 OC 1080p kernel and see how it goes.

Do you think that the ROM would run slower at 1080p because its more information to process, or, because its designed to work with 1080p would it operate the same as the equivalent 720p kernel?

If you play games a lot and/or look at raw AnTuTu scores, then, yes, 1080p kernels offer lower graphic performance than 720p kernels. But since even a de-underclocked kernel (CPU1800/DDR667/GPU600) will give you an AnTuTu score of >20000, there's no real need to use a 720p kernel, especially since you own a FullHD TV. With a 1080p kernel your TV won't have to scale the picture which results in a clearer and crisper display.
