It's awesome. 1080p with passthrough! Nothing choppy about it. Amazing to see full HD with DTS on the SPDIF coming from such a cheap little box. Wasser is doing a great job. You are using Wasser's justXBMC that's included in the firmware?

      Thanks
      Hi wasser,

I check it out when I get home and dump the gpios.
      Thank you very much !

Rom testing: so far it looks very promising

        Hi Wasser,

thank you for you hard work and delivering us this great rom!
I have been testing this for some time and here are some of my findings.

        Good

-wi-fi works flawlessly with my router, however I am very close to it so I didn't test it on a distance
-ethernet very stable and fast, running splashtop to play games from my pc, excellent!!
this evening I am gonna assign static ip and see how that goes...
-rom seems stable and fast, running it a few hours continiously
-first rom I was able to use my G910 gamepad with and Tincore keymapper, you made my day!

        Needs improvement

-had 2 force closes enabling tincore keymapper which needs root, (I think I was to fast manipulating the program as I didn't encounter the issue anymore when I approached it carefully
-have continiously force closes when the "Google Now" ad gets pushed. I will try to block this ad from being pushed and let you know.
-shut down button actually reboots the unit, kind of annoying, first I thought it was because I plugged the unit into pc, but kept on occurring when unplugged it from pc

However, a great rom, very usable for every day use neglecting the minor quirks, thanks man!!

Yes I use the justXBMC from 1.2.3 version. Weird that yours is running smoothly. Mine is lagging every couple of seconds, like frameskipping or something. I usually can't move forward in the movie, and if it does it will lag terribly for 5-10 seconds before catching up and lag less.

How is your connected? With HDMI and spdif? I have mine connected only through hdmi via my Sony Reciever.

Also are you sure it's fullhd? If I go to system settings it's 13xx X 7xx resolution and I can't change it. What does yours say?

It's definitely 1080p HD. When I start my box immediately my Samsung TV displays the resolution as 1920 x 1080 @ 60Hz. In the Android sound settings I have as output Rockchip + S/PDIF. In XBMC I have coaxial/SPDIF as output. But I have used HDMI as well without the S/PDIF and this works too. It's just that my Sammy TV cannot pass 5.1 to my AVR, so I need the S/PDIF into my Harman Kardon for surround sound. And XBMC is also running at 1920 x 1080.

Your problem sounds weird. Did you definitely flash the correct firmware from the 1st post of this thread? And it flashed ok? What does your TV say the HDMI resolution is? Also, check that hardware acceleration is on in XBMC, because it almost sounds as though your XBMC is using software rendering instead of using the quad core Mali GPU.

Thanks wasser great ROM WiFi is the best I have seen picking up all the neighbors WiFi signals full list used to only show 2 in list ,Ethernet also working fine. Only thing looks wrong is resolution even though settings say 1080p looks like 720p as bottom bar, clock ext.... Look bigger .do you have a 1080p kernel for this Rom ?

                  Hello wasser,

that happens on my boxes, too... sometimes.
I don't figure out the circumstances when or how...
seems to be a random thing.
And I exactly aim on Power Off, not Reboot ;-)

                    Wasser

                    Hello Wasser,

I have Been Busy Testing all you NEW Work For the T-R42 and K-R42(old) Firmware 1.2.3

First, And as Always For most... Thank You for a great Firmware Rom ...
and all of Your Time and hard work.

                    My Report Follows:

                    1) Been Testing For many hours this Morning on Both the K-R42(OLD) and T-R42 with the
                    same Hard ware :
1- 10 port USB Powered Hub
                    2- Geekbuying optical Mouse
                    3- USB Air Mouse/Keyboard
                    4- Rockwell USB Hard Drive

                    2) First: Some things That would make life easier: If possible Have the Firmware default to 1280x720p. This would help with two issue: Anyone with out 1080P Support ... could install the Firmware And Second if I use the "adb shell am display-size reset" would return the Player to a 720p setting ... as the Reset work correctly ...I am always forgetting to reset it to 720p before moving the unit to a different room after a firmware update.

                    3) T-R42 -Power On and The WIFI , Blue-tooth and Ethernet all Work Fine.
K-R42(Old) - Power On and The WIFI and Ethernet All Work Fine.
T-R42 - USB Hard Drive Mount correctly and all works fine
K-R42(Old) - USB Hard Drive on boot up Says Preparing USB Storage Message and is
Always On The Status Bar and Will Never Go away even You You click on it. But I can Access
The USB hard drive ... and its files seem to work ok.

                    4) T-R42 Power Off (From Power Down On Screen Menu) is still not fully working correctly It works once or Twice and Then Starts to Reboot instead of Shutting Down.
K-R42 Power Off seems to work with correctly also I get a Message stating it is safe to remove the USB hard drive ... Which I do NOT get on the T-R42.

                    5) T-R42 -The Remove X on the Home Screen Seems to not Always Work One time it is There and the Next it is NOT ...
K-R42 - The Remove X is always there and Works correctly ...

                    6) T-R42 -I had strange Problem When trying to setup Google Play store with My existing Account and Wifi Enabled. When I select Existing account the System Would display the Wifi Connection and would not let me enter My email and password. I went to Settings and disabled Wifi and Enabled Normal Ethernet and it works fine. I turned back on Wifi and
Google play store works fine ... After setting up account in Ethernet ..Very Strange.
K-R42(Old) I tested this and It worked Fine on both Wifi and Ethernet ...

                    7) If I reboot using the Reboot App the USB air mouse/keyboard and optical mouse will not work in CWM. If I reboot with the Power Button and the Button on the Bottom of the Unit
The USB Mouse / Keyboard works fine. Also This CWM is missing alot of command for mounting and fixing permissions and almost half the options of the other CWM...

                    8) T-R42 and K-R42 (old) I tested Internet speed for Both Transmit and Receive and both work Fine.

That is My Testing so far ...

Wasser what Would You like from me for the Reboot on power off....

                    Michael T.

Setting android sound device manager to RK29_RK1000 PASSTHROUGH fixed it for me, now the video is much more smooth. No idea if that is a coincidence but it helped

I can see the OSD says 1080p when playing 1080p files, my reference to a lower resolution was from the systeminfo sceen which says 1280 x 672 @ 60hz. Is this normal? My tv though says 1080p.

Still xmbc seems a little unstable, with quite a lot of FC - atleast for me. .avi files makes it freeze too.

But the GUI is really nice. But haven't found a proper way to hide the navbar without having the whole image shift down when hiding the navvar. This is enough to make me use BSplayer instead. Is there a way I haven't thought of though?

HDMI mode is the exact same going from 1080p to 720p.

Whenever I switch between the two in the screen > HDMI mode menu I see no difference at all in the resolution. My TV though registers it correctly as 1080p and 720p. Why is there then no difference in the resolution that I see?

This makes sense so far as the icons go. But what about the rest? The navbar, the settings menu (how many menuitems can be seen) etc. These don't change size either. Do they scale too?

I will look at Lewy's thread, but it has 1400+ replies, so a little overwhelming...
