btw When I restrict my CPU to frequencies between 1.2 and 1.4 ghz the short black screens seem to occur less often.

unfortunately, it doesn't work.
I got 2 dmesg dumps. One from the kernel-t_r42_cpu1800h_ddr800_1080p_gpu600h

In the working one, Sink info looks good, and appears just once:

I take it all your 720p movies stutter? Perhaps check your sound output in Android settings. Also try playing with MX player with the custom h/w+ enabled. I have had a few downloaded movies that did not play in XBMC, but perfectly in MX.
The kernels at the top are all overclocked with different CPU and memory timings. No need to use any of those, but if you do you may experience an unexpected crash on the higher ones. The RK3188 chip is normally running at 1.6GHz and overclocking it will push it higher, and might overheat it! So be careful.
I played a bit with my audio settings, but that doesn't help. With this firmware I also have the problem that the movie stops after 10 minutes. When I start the movie again. after a while the movie stops playing again. I use DicePlayer to play my movies. I didn't have that problem with stock firmware.
I will try to use MX Player and see what happens there.

Hi all,
First of all, thanks to all that are part of making our T-R42 boxes usable; many thanks to all especially wasser.
I downloaded and installed the 1.2.2 version and found out that there is no xbmc preinstalled. I downloaded the Gotham version and tested it. 720p playback is acceptable but 1080p is choppy. Could anyone give me a hint as to what version to use that plays 1080p smoothly.
I usually play my movies over SMB. which is the best to use if smb is not suitable?
Has anyone tried bluetooth music headset with this box? if yes, is it working properly?.

Hello,
first of all excuse me for my English.
I have MK888 player but it use AP6210 IC for radio, so AFAIK i have analogue of T-R42 player with WiFi and Bluetooth. My PCB inside look exactly as on this picture: http://i.imgur.com/nA8sh6f.jpg
Firstly, when i think that i have analogue of K-R42, i flashed K-R42_justXBMC_by_lewy20041_v1.1.1 firmware and all was fine except non working WiFi and Bluetooth. But all my video files are played well and without any exceptions.
But then, when i learn that my player is really analogue of T-R42, i flashed t-r42-wasser-1.2.3 firmware. WiFi and Bluetooth start working well, but my video files playback become ugly! All 720p .mkv files began plays with artefacts (random coloured small squares over frame image, i guess that decompression artefacts), 1080p files playback become very slowly. Problem with artefacts i solve by turning off hardware acceleration in XBMC settings, but 1080p files playback still very slowly.
I flashed back K-R42_justXBMC_by_lewy20041_v1.1.1 and all my video files playback again become smooth and without any artefacts. I checked settings of XBMC on this firmware and found that "use hardware acceleration" option is turned on by default.
So my questions is:
1. Anybody who have T-R42 or they analogue, do you use t-r42-wasser-1.2.3 firmware? If yes, what with you video files playback?
2. Why almost same firmwares (AFAIK they must differ only by kernels and maybe kernel modules for different radio modules) shown so different playback results of video files?
Also, firmware from lewy20041 shown real 1920x1080 resolution in XBMC and AnTuTu info. And what i found, they also use video.use.overlay=0 option in build.prop But may this option affect on video playback (decompression artefacts and speed)?

Hello,
I bought a T-R42 and have a problem flashing roms.
When I flash a rom the box won't boot, screen stays dark and only the power button is lit.
Tried wasser 1.2.3 (T-R42), HFW 1.2.1/2.0.4 (didn't know it was K-R42 only) and even the stock rom from geekbuying.com doesn't boot.
The only ROMs that boot are justXBMC 1.1.1 and wasser 1.2.2 (T-R42) but neither Ethernet nor Wifi can't be enabled.
thanks in advance for any advice.
