Thanks for clarifying this. It is now a whine I just want to give some feedback.
If I can help you please just tell me how I can do it.
On the other hand it is possible to disable, in the configuration files, this feature (hide status bar)?
Best regards,
Andrei

I'll have to do some research on that. I think I read in another forum about that, but didn't pay too much attention. I'll look for it.Randy

I mean for example a normal user doesn't have the rights to activate the "USB debugging". So if I want to transfer something to the tablet I have to use the "Owner".
I hope it helps,

Hi there, first time poster here. Just did my first ever custom ROM flash with Finless 1.5, and it worked a treat! Tablet seems to be running much better than it was with the stock ROM, antutu score backs this up and so far all seems rock solid stable.
Wanted to say massive thanks to Bob and Riley for their great work for us Pipo owners! Really hope you guys can keep this up for us.
I have noticed some multi user mode issues, which may be known ones as Riley suggested. The hiding tool bar not reappearing in user accounts is one. Also the user icons are cut off in the lock screen which may also be related to Pipo firmware tool bar hiding function?
More annoying though is that wallpaper setting in the additional user accounts doesn't work. Have tried setting in the normal settings and also with dedicated app Image 2 Wallpaper, and neither work - just get a black screen as wallpaper. Does anyone know if this is a known issue or if there is any fix? I had multi user enabled before on my stock ROM (through some root CLI jiggery pokery) and the wallpaper on additional user accounts worked fine...
Any thoughts appreciated, keep up the great work freaktab.com!!

The only "good" news about wallpaper is that additional users CAN use LIVE wallpapers with any version (but I haven't tried FR1.5 myself).

ReadmeFirst Putting the OTG port into Flash Mode
I just got my Pipo M9 pro today. I am getting ready to try to do this Flash.
But I have some questions.
In the README FIRST.TXT, at talking about putting the Pipo into flash mode it says:
2) Connected the supplied USB cable from the device OTG port (far right port) to your PC.
Does that mean connect the OTG cable into the OTG port, and then connect a usb cable from the OTG port into one of my USB ports on my PC? Or is it -- connect a USB cable into the OTG port on the Pipo, into one of my USB ports on my PC?
Also Can you Confirm - From message #99 on
“There is no driver RK3188 for Win 8.1. Only Win 8... Try to find an other computer with XP, Vista, Win7 or Win8” .
Therfore -- I will need to do this on one of the Operating Systems as indicated, not Windows 8.1.

The reference to OTG in Readme First should have said USB instead of OTG. You want to connect the USB port (on right, looking at the front, on left and labeled USB if looking at the back) to the USB connection on the PC. The HOST (OTG) port is a USB master, as is the PC USB port and you don't want to connect them together.
The HOST (OTG) port would be used to connect things like a kbd, mouse, external drive, ...

Trouble Installing Device Driver
First BillinCA - thanks, I am trying to do this using the USB port on my Pipo, and my PC.
But I am having trouble getting the Device Driver installed on my PC.
Perhaps someone can help!
1) I did remove my SDcard.
2) I have the Pipo and my PC connected using the Pipo's USB port, -- not the OTG port on the Pipo.
3a) I have had trouble IF I connect the Power supply to the Pipo. If I do that, and then really soon start pushing the 2 buttons on the Pipo. The Pipo does bring up its Green battery charging screen. The PC no longer is showing me a new Device.
3b) So I have been skipping Connecting the Power supply to the Pipo.
4a) The pipo is turned off, and I hold the 2 buttons for 2-3 seconds.
4b) The pipo boots up, and soon I see a Green Android figure, lying on his side, with a Port Hatch open, showing a Red triangle with an ! Exclamation Mark. !
5a) Windows bongs, and shows a new device. On my PC it shows under "Other Devices", a new device named "M9pro".
Driver Install Steps
1) Windows did find a new device -- but it is not saying unknown. But rather M9pro. But it does have a yellow symbol in it.
2) I have already opened the Device Manager previous. I makes seeing the new device being added easier.
3) I Right clinck on the M9pro device, and following the procedures to Update the Driver.
4a) As per the readmefirst file, I browse my computer for the driver.
4b) I've tried this on a Windows 7 - 64 bit laptop -- I browse down to .... Finless_Pipo_M9Pro15ROM\drivers\x64\win7
4c) I've tried this on my Windows 8.1 - 64 bit laptop - I browse down to ... Finless_Pipo_M9Pro15ROM\drivers\x64\win8 -- hoping that well these drives might work on Windows 8.1
5) In any event which ever Microsoft PC I am using -- I use the browse button, and Click on the appropriate driver folder.
6) I push the "Next" button from the Update Driver Software - M9pro dialog box. Windows comes back with the disappointing message "Windows was unable to install your M9pro.. Windows could not find driver software for your device.... If you know the manufacture of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software".
I have tried this several times, multiple variations. Advice, Help please.

Described Android on its back is tablet in Recovery (w/o CWM recovery installed). That means it isn't in Flash mode.

I do recall getting different behavior with power connected and disconnected, but I don't bother connecting power at all to flash or install drivers.
I'll assume that you can push and hold power button to get the tablet back to "normal". If you start Finless ROM flash tool, it should display
No Found RKAndroid rock usb
with the USB cable disconnected. Once connected Win BOINGs), it should change to
Found RKAndroid Mass Storage Device
and in Device Mgr, you should see new devices in Disk Drives. Only one
rockchip_usb USB Device
will appear if you don't have the external SD card installed.
Once you see Mass Storage displayed, you can click the
Reboot to Flash Mode
It will briefly change back to
No Found RKAndroid rock usb
but then you should get a device in Device Mgr that needs the driver. Regardless of what the "?" device is named, if you select properties of it, then the Details tab, then the Hardware IDs property (drop down), you should see
USB\VID_2207&PID_310B&REV_0100
If you update driver for it, Browse to Finless_Pipo_M9Pro_15ROM\drivers and have Subfolders checked, you shouldn't have to pick X64 / X86. If that doesn't install the driver, something else is amiss. If the device ID isn't
USB\VID_2207&PID_310B
or one of the others listed in the .INF, it won't install the device.
Good Luck!!
EDIT:
My GUESS is that you have
USB Debugging enabled in Developer Options of Settings. That "device" isn't what you need to flash - it has a device ID of
USB\VID_2207&PID_0010&MI_01
and has a "name" while no driver is installed that matches an entry in build.prop. I don't see M9Pro myself, as FR1.4 changes the device to
ro.product.model=GT-I9300
If you turn OFF USB debugging, the M9Pro device should disappear from Device Mgr (it toggles with debugging switch). The device you want to update is a different device with a question mark.
Also, if you leave the tablet in flash mode "too long" (maybe 3-4 minutes??), it goes to sleep after some time, # failures, something, pressing power will take you to Recovery (Android on its back). The device you want to install drivers for will disappear if it times out, but you should be able to push and hold esc/back and then hit power button to get the Bootloader going again and the device to appear in Dev Mgr with a question mark.

1.5 Rom Update
After a week it looks like this ROM is pretty solid. I have one bug in a setting I haven't found how to fix. The tablet lights up while in battery charge mode while the tablet is off. Tablet gets pretty warm while the battery charging icon is on. Anyone know what setting I messed up?
I sure am impressed with the custom rom, I thought this tablet was a dud, it's nice to have it working like a charm. Pipo should hire you guys to fix their tablets Roms, you could save them a fortune in return tablets.
Happy Holidays everyone!
