deep sleep is in 2 words:
when you leave the tablet on with the sceen off: the deep sleep allow the system to switch off the CPU to save power.
Without deep sleep function, when the tablet is on and the sceen is off the CPU is permanently powered at the lowest freq/volt.

In practice, if you leave the tablet on for a night with only the screen off (8-9hours):
with deep sleep enabled: battery drain is 0-2%
with deep sleep off: battery drain is 10-15%

Ok, thank for explaining. That is not so important to me, as good gps and 3g. I assume there is some others like me...

I can't find in this firmware the option to disable and/or reenable GPS when I don't need it, nor the options to manage (swithc on/off) deepsleep; also the option for a quick boot seems disappeared... Plz someone can tell me wheere I can find these options?

          Kernels

          Hi!,
reading the post, I try to flash some kernels.
I try to use kernel_kitkat_1.8_cpu1704h_gpu600h STOCK_ddr720_VERY_LOW_V2.img and standard version
          with no luck.
Once flashed only I can see is the badge and then pipo hung.

          I think only work is
          kernel_kitkat_1.8_cpu1704h_1325mV_gpu600h STOCK_ddr720_Claro that I am using now.

I would like to know why I can use only the claro....
          Someone can explain???
          Thanks!

            simple:
you have a not lucky CPU, not able to manage low voltage at high frequency, so you need more Volt to be stable.

To enable/disable the GPS you can go on option/geolocation or you need to enable the relevant widget for the google launcher.
The deep sleep cannot be managed by the user: it is enabled if you use the RileyRom, it is totally disabled if you use stock ROM

with RileyRom 1.8 and "low_voltage_v2" kernel with ART enabled the battery duration has been:

11h 11m 48s WITH THE SCREEN ALWAYS ON, WI-FI CONNECTED, minimum brightness (in my opinion it's enough inside a building) used for browsing and video streaming.

                    outstanding result!

With Jelly bean my record was below 7h with the screen always on.

here is the stock libril file that needed to be EXTRACTED from the .zip and placed with a file explorer into: /system/lib/ folder overwriting the RileyROM libril file.
Pay attention that the system folder has to be enabled in R/RW mode (otherwise you will not be able to copy the file).

                      libril-rk29-dataonly.zip

                      After that, reboot the tablet.
With this file: 3G will be better, but you will loose deep sleep functionality (I suggest you to backup original libril file somewhere else).

This file is compatible with all kitkat releases of RK3188 tablets (this file has been extracted from the M6pro stock kitkat release).

For your information: my modified kenels do not involve deep sleep functionality (where the frequency is set to 0 Hz for CPU and the CPU is virtually switched off).
But it could affect the moment of the switch back on.
If you see the problem again I suggest you to try the "825_users" kernel version that could help your specific issue (with a little bit more voltage on lower frequency of the CPU)
                        Just to give some feedback...

RollingMuffin and yourself are right, my freezes issues may be kernel related. It also occured with the other Wifi options just took a longer time, like a few hours. Then it happened once or twice while tablet was on -> Mmm Kernel for sure...

I'll see with the stock Kernel first before messing around again. Sure miss the extra power.
BYTW already tried 825_users it was worse than the Low v2 ;(

Sorry Riley for having disturbed this thread.

This rom setting display to retina resol by default?
If i remember well, in stock rom there was an option where i can choose from retina resol and low res...
                          Thanks

On kitkat ROMs only retina resolution is available. No more option to reduce the resolution.

Found some problems with the sensors.
                                1. Orientation sensor operates in the opposite direction. While changing the tilt away, moves across the bubble.
                                2. Compass live their lives. Completely inadequate.
                                3. Accelerometer also works the wrong side as the sensor orientation.
