Yeah changing the charger solved a customers problem simliar to yours too.

I tried the low power kernel, while it was so easy to flash, it was scary cuz tablet kept hanging on rileyrom fireman badge logo, and had the hardest time getting the tablet back to flash mode, but when I did I unchecked all the boxes except kernel (renamed low power kernel to backup and use default kernel) then flashed. Its working good now. Did I do the proper procedure to restore it?

Yes, but if you want you can try other kernels more "compatible" with your specific CPU.

Did you try one of my mod kernel?
I suggest you to try one of them, the difference in performance is more visible on kitkat than on Jelly bean.
And if you have a lucky CPU you can use the low_voltage_v2 with an increase in battery duration too.

If you have never tested a mod kernel you cannot say this...

Its best to install ROM first on stock kernel to make sure it boots and install every thing proper how ever you could flash the ROM with any kernel you want

It has been written millions of times...

extract the zip, and flash ONLY the new kernel.img with the Flash tool included in the Riley ROM package.
Do not press "erase IDB".
The apps will not be affected.

In my case, the 1.8 ROM flashed in a breeze, all apps were reinstalled OTA, and I am getting an Antutu Score of 19650.

Nevertheless, at least once a day my M6 freezes with its screen turned on and I need to hard reset it from the hidden button in the back.

Never had such a freeze before with the Rileyrom 1.6
Sometimes when I am browsing the net, sometimes during games...
Any ideas?

Did you press "erase idb" or did you just flash 1.8 over the previous one?
Because for most of us kitkat is completely stable, no freeze at all
