Because for most of us kitkat is completely stable, no freeze at all
Affirmative, I did "erase idb" first . I waited until it finished and right after that I flashed it.

Is there a point to repeat any of theese steps? Erase IDB and/or Flash ROM?
I mean, apart from these freeze ups, the tablet runs better than with the 1.6 ROM...

    Thank you for helping out!

      mmm.
Probably one of your app is not perfectly compatible with kitkat.
To be sure that the tablet itself is ok, try reflashing kitkat again and do not install anything else, and use it for browsing for 1 or 2 days, if in this condition everything is ok the problem could be one of your apps, otherwise you could have something wrong with the tablet HW.

Dns also cant be changed from the root terminal emulator only from within the wifi setting app. I believe this is an issue with most kit kat roms due to new security settings in the kernel. I also have the custom low voltage kernel running on mine too. Its way better than 1.6.
did you get into book loop when you installed the custom kernal, mine has done it?

I'm pretty happy with this ROM...even with the stock kernel.
Me too, its an awesome release!

If you have bootloops with the V2 kernel, your CPU is not enough lucky, so you need more voltage to be stable.
try another kernel (the "claro" version should work for you).

                      and try flashing kernels again

you can try and wipe cache and dalvik in twrp wipe>advance wipe>dalvik cache>swipe to wipe

and if that dose not work all i can recommend is to flash it all again and then install https://www.dropbox.com/s/4ee7kr8rld...oot_v1.2.2.apk

Nevertheless, at least once a day my M6 freezes with its screen turned on and I need to hard reset it from the hidden button in the back.

Never had such a freeze before with the Rileyrom 1.6
Sometimes when I am browsing the net, sometimes during games...
                              Any ideas?
                              Hey,

I have also had a couple of crashes that have required using the reset button at the back of the tablet. They didn't seem to be caused by using a particular app just occasionally I would pick up the tablet, after not using it for a while, and the screen wouldn't turn on. I also had an issue where I wasn't able to connect to a wifi network but this was also resolved with a reset. Overall performance and stability is good though. However, I think battery life was better on 1.6.1.

It has been stated many times that the kernels*** are hardware specific. They are not guaranteed to work on all devices. If you have tried all the custom ones then you'll have to go back to the stock one that is loaded up in the flash tool by default. Connect your device, load up the tool, untick everything but kernel and click flash.
