Thanks HardwareGuru, this HLS rom is the best rom around for the X7!

I've tried to patch 2 bytes on libmedia.so as per stafstrom V2 (mono for communications) but Android keeps rebooting when lib is called , ... acting as a magician aprentice .
Any clue on how to make this patch?

MINIX A2 Remote setting glitch is not completely fixed.

As you can see in the screen shot, the "Sage AirMouse" is selected as the sound input device. If I change it to RK29_RT5616 and then reboot the Minix Neo; it defaults back to the Sage AirMouse. Now for some people this may be a issue because while the Sage AirMouse is being used as a input device; it is also draining the remote control batteries as well.

Flashing guide

Could anybody please provide a complete flashing guide or at least the correct command line parameters needed to run rkflashtools correctly?
Or may be a link to a flashing guide because I couldn't find any.

I just got my minix neo x7 and first thing i hit was xbmc can't play 1080p video smoothly, was very happy to find this post. Now i need the flahsing guide to give it a try.

Can I use the official firmware update tools (from minix guys) to do the flashing ? they provide a nice GUI + it also accepts one .img file for flashing

Flash Notes: ( READ this )
- Flashtool not included ( need rkflashtool )
- Unzip the .img and flash it with rkflashtool
- The kernel boot dont show a logo, so the first boot can give you about a minute black screen !! just be patiant !! the second boot will go much faster.
- When you first boot, wait till "Airpin starts" before doing anything or the app installer will abort !! you will end up without preloaded apps !! This can take some time !! just be patiant !!

I just installed your version with the 'fixed' HLS support. But unfortunately, I have to report that with my usecases, it has not yet been fixed completely:

* The "3fm" app still lets the system throw an error "can not play this video" when I open the visual radio stream (camera icon).

* NPO, RTL XL and playing back the visual radio on www.3fm.nl in the browser (stock and chrome) at least does not lead to crashing of playback (endless buffering) but in stead, they also do not attempt to switch to a higher stream .

So also in the NPO app, even though I select high quality in settings, it keeps playing back the lower quality.

I have a neo x7 with "out of the box" firmware and I only rooted it for some apps I like to use.
Can I just flash your Rom and root it again? I loose root I presume.

Hi Guru,
I am still on your 4a rev1 version (pre HLS).
Everything working good for me now. But there is a couple of annoying issues, which you already know about:
1) OTG port issues. My webcam logitech c910 works the best when plugged in OTG port. I tried other usb ports, it works but have some problems. In v4 of your rom OTG doesnt work. You said it is a kernel problem. Do you have plans to fix it?
2) Skype and SPDIF passthrough issue. The same as discussed here: http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.p...l=1#post155001

Could you please take a look at these and may be fix it in second iteration of HLS ROM?

Help please

I am using windows 8.
the mobroobo does not load. I get an error message.



I haven't rooted my device yet, but I was able to upgrade to minix firmware 6 using the someCoolTech video. downloaded it from minix, installed drivers and used that ugly tool with the green square.

How can I flash this rom?

Flashing this rom is the same as you flashed the firmware 006.
What is the error message you get under Mobroobo?
