I have done it...and it works...to specifically answer your question.
However, since you are planning to flash a whole new ROM, with entirely new system settings, I wouldn't recommend it. All you will be doing is putting the previous ROM back on your tablet.
What I do...and I've done it this way from the very beginning is run a full apps and system backup with Titanium. Its worth paying for the key, so you can do the batch processes.
First thing after booting the first time, go to settings and set up wifi and your Google account. Then download and install Titanium with the key.
Make sure your backup folder is on your external SD. Under preferences in Titanium, point it to your backup folder location. Then press the batch processes button at the top right corner. Scroll down and select restore missing apps with data. Then only select the apps you need to install. Don't install any system apps or they may conflict with what's already in the rom.
I do it this way each and every time. It only takes me about 5 minutes to get everything back to normal after flashing a new ROM.Randy

While what I do seems like magic....I do have my limitations with regard to what Kitkat will allow. So far Pipo hasn't implemented multi user, multi window or fast boot support in their KK releases. I doubt that I could magically implement it on my own without rewriting a bunch of code...and it probably wouldn't work reliably.
Since you asked, I will check with my colleagues and see what can be done.Randy

Everyone here is singing the praises of Randy and his ROMs.
I hope everyone has noticed the "Donate" link at the bottom of Randy's posts.
Some time ago I donated to Randy and also Bob Finless because I really appreciated their tireless efforts in producing these ROMs and making them available to anyone who wants to use them.
I am now going to donate to Randy again for his ongoing developments and his incredible patience in answering questions that have been answered many times before and are usually included in his instructions that come with every ROM. (However Randy's description of how to backup and restore - #94, is definitely worth copying and printing)
Enough said.

Randy already mentioned a few posts earlier that he would try to get a new ROM out today. He's always been very responsive to any and all questions, plus I'm sure he's got other things going on in his life.
I think we should just leave it at that and patiently wait for it.

Hi there,
I got question, how should battery stats from settings look like ? So far in android i got list of application which drain some amount of battery, and here I got only screen with 100%. Is it bug or its normal ? Anyone could post his/her screen with this, mine looks like this:
Second thing is there any way to modify soft nav bar on the bottom (autohide like in original pipo rom 4.2.2) add new buttons or so ? I have seen some screenshot probably from pipo tablet where bottom bar got battery stat and clock, is there any mod for this ?
Thank you in advance
Regards,
Maciej

i think the new stock PiPO 4.4.2 rom for m9pro does not have the nice settings ui icons like on this 2.7.1 rom.
so may i ask you randy if you are going to keep the settings ui icons made by Chinese developer Edge XuanPROUD owner of PiPO M9 Pro
PiPO P9 best tablet ever owned!!!

I think I'll leave the Edge Xuan additions out of this one.
The reason for that is simple. Problems faced by users from this ROM (which aren't many, BTW) must be narrowed down. Either they are within Edge Xuan's work, or the stock firmware.
I'll put together a new ROM with the exact same features and settings as my previous ROM's and test to see if there are any differences.
The changes made by Edge Xuan, while they are pretty cool...detract from my usual approach to providing the most efficient/clean ROM possible. It's about performance, not looks. That's what the Google Play Store is for.
Anyway, sorry for the delay. I had to spend some quality time with my parents today. They are both nearing 80 years old, but have a computer oriented project they are working on...so you can understand, support for them is a little more hands on that making a post on Freaktab...hahaha!!!!
I'm setting up my kitchen for the ROM right now. It will only take a few minutes to get started. But I still have to download the firmware...I have no idea how long that will take.
I'll put together a new boot animation with this one. It will have a smaller animation in the middle on a black background...for the folks who want a more subtle boot screen.
Also understand that this weekend we are undergoing some maintenance on our server...so be patient if we go offline for a while.Randy

Parents and children are worth every second you spend with them. And they definitely appreciate it.
