Will this rom work on pipo M8 pro?

Since I wasn't exactly sure of the source of this firmware, even though it's a new kernel, there may have been some other modifications done by a Chinese developer. If so, I would give him/her credit for this ROM...if I knew their name(s).

Anyway, let me flash this on my M7 Pro and I will post my results. I may need to make a few modifications.

Yes, if you try this ROM, make sure you have a good backup before you flash.

No, I have tried it....and have never been able to get an M9 Pro ROM to run on an M8 Pro. There's too much difference in hardware.

It is a nice ROM. Thank you very much. The only thing that a don't like is that there is not hidden status bar button any more. I used that key for reading. I didn't find a way to have that button back.

The bottom button that hides the status bar existed in JB 4.2.2 rom and PiPO decided to remove it on KK 4.4.2 rom. The hide status bar button brought issues with SwiftKey keyboard and I had issues too so I am happy that the hide status bar button is now removed on KitKat making SwiftKey keyboard work again like it should . IMO it's a useless feature.

Well, I wouldn't say it's a totally useless feature. I can see people wanting it for playing games...and when they use HDMI output to show movies on their big screen TV's. People use their tablets for many different purposes, and get used to the features they have. When the feature is taken away...they get a little frustrated.

I haven't had time to look at it, but in my iFive Mini 3 Retina ROM...there is a button to hide the task bar on their KK ROM. It's turned off in Pipo ROM's. It may take some digging to find it, but I may be able to port that feature over to the Pipo ROM's...if there is enough interest.

If you have time to find a solution and put this feature on a next ROM we will be glad!!!

              Thank you!

As long as it can be disabled or turned off I won't complain. This feature is know to conflict with swiftkey keyboard

I also think there ARE apps on Google Play Store you can install that will do the same thing.

Like Kenneth, I don't use the feature.

I am still using 2.7.1 here.... Is it worth to flash 2.7.2?

Question: Will all this flashing ruin or decrease the nand chips lifetime?

The only difference between the ROM's is that the Edge Xuan changes are omitted from 2.7.2.

I've flashed my tablets hundreds of times testing ROM's...so far, I haven't had a NAND failure.

oh wow man! that such a relief hearing that!

i was concerned about too much flashing on my 3months old m9pro

does 2.7.2 share the same kernel as 2.7.1?

                                Text Messaging?

Given that my M9 Pro has 3G, I wonder if it would be possible to use the mobile network's SMS facilities as well as 3G data. Is there a way to add or unfreeze apps to make it work?

I guess that voice calls would probably need specialist hardware codecs, but text messages ought to be possible for the hardware.
