Hey Kastrup & all - this is getting very strange. I just reflashed back to Finless1.5 and now got the same NO GPS on this as well. I have been around a while and never had this problem before on any other ROM, but can now of course sympathise with others who are suffering. I will go all the way back to my original PIPO ROM now to see if it still does not work (I did hear yesterday that some satellites had suffered an outage last week??? )

OK - so I have synced my time with NTPSync and I now have my Pipo sitting next to my Samsung NOTE - BOTH running the same GPS test by Chartcross and they are BOTH not receiving an signals! Yes, I am inside, BUT he note was reporting three satellites but has now lost them all. VERY strange indeed! I now need to go home and sit them on top of my roof where I have uninterrupted views of the (polluted) sky where I have regularly acquired 14-18 satellites. Will report back later.......

OK _ Later at home with the Note, my daughters tablet & the Pipo on a table staring up at the grey sky I am pleased to say all three devices are working OK. The generic tablet locked onto 5 satellites immedately despite the fact it was a first time run with GPS Test. The Note took a couple of minutes, but overook to 11 satellites in use. The Pipo came in last after about 10 mins, but it did lock onto 6. This is back on Finless1.5 so I will now race back to the office, load up 2.7.2 and try again from home later! phew - apologies for my haste in saying the GPS does not work!

      build.prop

Sorry Randy, I missed your reply and have now come back to haunt you! - I have checked both build.props rom Bobs 1.5 ROM and your 2.7.2 and they are completely different. So, my initial question stands, which was am I able to flash your 2.7.2 and then exchange the entire build.prop file for bobs 1.5 version, or will this not work as we are shifting from Android 4.2 to Android 4.4 ? Or, are there SOME lines from Bobs 1.5 I can exchange/add in order to spoof the tablet into thinking it is the Samsung GT-I9300 ?
      Thanks in anticipation,
      Colin.

I thought I posted those settings somewhere in this thread.

No, the entire build.prop won't work in this ROM from Bob's ROM. There's too much different.

I've packed my laptop away for the night, and I don't remember them all right now.

No worries Randy, I would not expect you to remember all this! I have looked on this thread and can't find anything? - Should I bother Bob to see if he can tell me which lines are the ones to change, or shall I wait for you ? There are about 10 lines I have identified as referring to the Samsung device, but 2 of them also mention 4.1.1 (ro.build.description and ro.build.fingerprint) so I am worried about changing just anything!

You beat me to it Kenneth, I just got a link to weshare from Anna at Pipo - and I checked their service site and it is up there as well. Am down loading right now to have a look as I am in between ROMs right now!

Don't know - I Am currently fighting to get anything flashed......it failed on PIPO's loader first time! am trying again, but it is not looking good just yet!
All flashed and working now - needed to press restore, not upgrade on the flash tool! However, Pipo seem to have pulled a fast one here as it is displaying 4.2.2 and is clearly JB, NOT KK. ICONS etc are all JB ones, and stuff is missing that should be there on KK. I will ask Anna what she is playing at!!
I am clearly going around in circles here! There are two 'new' ROMs - Anna just pointed me to weshare where an old version dated 20140319_DS1007_M9pro_4.4.2_#4...rar sits - I am downloading this now, but it is taking forever. Anna has told me I need to download before Aril 17th -which as we can see is tomorrow!
The second 'new' release is dated yesterday and is on the Pipo service site as well as the baidu link that Kenneth put up. This second one is NOT KitKat and I suspect the first one is the one Randy already tweaked, but can't tell until it is downloaded which could take all night............

If you installed any system data from a previous ROM, it could cause freezing problems.

When I do a restore from Titanium, I only install "Missing Apps with Data". That only installs the data associated with the apps...not from the old system. You might try reflashing and try that.

If you can catch a logcat when a freeze happens, it would be handy.
Have you tried "TB restore fixer" for apps with data installed? Has worked for me several times on s4 and s3 roms

Now I am completely confused. I just got the latest 4.4.2 release directly from Anna at Pipo - it IS KK and it IS with 3.4.0 Kernel, so what has Randy been playing with for his 2.7 ROMs?? I will stick with this for the moment and check my GPS again when I get home. It runs right out of the box (so far) with the missing flashing cursor on text input that I had on RR2.7.2 I will try to report in later, or possibly tomorrow now.

I read in Arctablet that the KK's kernel version is falsely displayed as 3.4.0 on the system information. The kernel is 3.0.36 actually (and I presume that Randy is using the same version) so it's not Randy's fault for PIPO delivering a ROM with fake information.
Unless Randy is actually compiling the kernel as well (which as I understand it's not his way of cooking roms, and that would require nearly exclusive focus on 1 or 2 devices and endless bug testing which would limit his availability to help all users of this forum with new ROM versions!) don't expect to get the last version of Linux kernel on our tablets soon. Not from Randy anyway
Without mentioning the lack of kernel sources from PIPO (which is against the rules of OSS, but that's a completely different story to discuss ).

                            That one is 4.2.2.

Thanks for the explanation. So Randy's ROM is derived from this Pipo one and there is no new KK from Pipo, just a new JB. I had better reflash to 2.7.2 then!!

PiPO seems to push out more 4.2.2 roms than 4.4.2. It's a pity cause JB 4.2.2 roms are slow on m9pro than KK 4.4.2
