Hello

First let me say thank you for the QS firmwares they are wonderful.

now my question, i have a minix x7 and i upgraded from QS v2 to v3.1 (made a full recovery installment) it went very good no issues at all. but after downloading alla my apps and arraging them i found a "bug" on the home screen down right i cant put any shortcuts. for example if i put a shotcut like dolphin browser (see picture the red square) and restart the system it disappers. and it is ony 1 square in the home screen that resets. i have tried to reinstall the FW with no luck, no other changes has been made. can you help me ?

The default kernel is what most people will need... any OC'd kernel will require that you test each one to make certain your system is stable at those speeds... if you do try to OC, start with the lowest and work up until the tests indicate errors and back off one or two speeds lower.

I don't recall hearing of this issue with the stock launcher before... but it's an easy workaround... use another launcher such as Nova or similar.

I tried the one with ram@720 (looks a stable setting) and cpu@1700.
CPU freq can be limited easily if any problem occurs.

1. Leolas: perhaps you could put a quick guide in OP on editing build.prop correctly to get AirPin working? Because all it requires is one simple edit. Don't think that should be a problem legal-wise? The question comes up a lot. Once build.prop is edited it works fine...

2. I can report that I have managed to get WifiDisplay (Miracast) working on QS3.1 using (http://www.freaktab.com/attachment.p...8&d=1389939370) version of the APK and with an LG Optimus G (stock), and LG G2 (stock) KitKat ROMs.

I could not get it working using Cyanogenmod etc. Only with Stock ROMs.

It doesn't work quite as well as using my LG Miracast dongle - using the X7 the stream is a bit choppier. But it works OK.

(Does anyone know if there is an update verson of the WifiDisplay app on the new Minix "Kitkat" ROM?)

3. Team, any possibility of adding all the root/HDMI detection blocking low level features that Minix have put in the latest stock ROM? E.g. release keys v test keys, etc, see here http://minixforums.com/threads/4-4-f...se.8699/page-7

1. To got minix xbmc working you only need to edit in /system/build.prop and put the default values that comes with MINIX x7 stock ROM.
2. Wifidisplay apps from rk don't work for me in my moto g device. I think they don't works really ok in any device, it works erratic, some times works, some not.
3. We are studing it for 3.2
4. We didn't test it yet. But with next 3.2 we will test all xbmc versions we found, we will test this one too, thanks.

i have tried to flash different kernels butno luck for me.

Time ago I formatted a USB pen to extfat and it was detected for the x7. I will test it again.

Is a bug from Launcher stock launcher, like rdsok said please try Nova launcher (very similar to stock one but more customizable) or other one from the market.

Like rdsok said stock values is enough for most users.

I tried the one with ram@720 (looks a stable setting) and cpu@1700.

I use for daily 1080p cpu1700 DDR 720 and GPU 600h

Note: Daemonium advice me that minix xbmc has other check active, so with build.prop edit is not enough.

Anyone experienced "type password to decrypt storage..." problem with QS3.1?

I helped a friend to change rom for his Neo X7 recently to QS3.1 (fantastic ROM btw!!!) and setup XBMC.

We put back the X7 in the box and he went home with it! At his home when he powered up his X7 he got at screen telling him to "type password to decrypt storage.."

I believe he fiddled with a usb-stick during first startup but even after a new ROM restore process the problem is still present. No encryption have been configured.

I'll guess this is a general Android question but just wanted to hear if anyone else had the same problem and/or if this can be hardware problem...

Have seen some problems like this with Nexus 7 but no cases with the NEO X7.

My own X7 with QS3.1 works like a charm... Thank's for a great job Nitro Team !!!

Rsok and leolas thank you for the fast reply, another qestion when i run 720 and 1080 videos on xbmc the picture gets stuck after 10min. i read on the internet that it had something with the hardware acc to do, so i wiched off libstagefright and it is working but the videos became more choppy. is there any fix for this problem. i run the installed xbmc version from your rom.

Beyond XBMC has always used koyings code as a base as he knows exactly what he is doing with these rockchip devices. He is probably responsible for most of the android commits I see.

He should have a newer version up soon as I have seen a few fixes he has done over the last few days and no new version uploaded yet.

When I do release the next version of Beyond you can guarantee that is the base I will use as a starting point

If you've read the thread ( which is doubtful )... you'd see only a couple have mentioned a similar issue to the one you posted about... others are not seeing it. So when someone suggests you try it... they can't say for certain if it will address the issue.... but you also can't say for certain that it won't.

In the time since you questioned the validity of the suggestion... you could have downloaded and tested to see if it fixed your issue or not.
