Hdmi port change also didn't work. In one TV I have flickering issue. Still testing different kernels but no luck yet.

Is there a safe way to return to minix stock rom without bricking?

Latest update is that only way don't flicker is set resolution to 576p... Just for info as I can't use this resolution as it is very bad for a big TV.

I am still testing kernels but no luck.

The easy way to solve it is change the HDMI cable, the one included in the MINIX package is not a bad one, but there is a better cables, it is not only a cable problem, seems to be related about the ITE HDMI chip included in rk3188 too, and certain TV, so the problems is a coincidence of some factors, I made a set of kernels to try to minimize the problem, they work for some people and others not. So the easy way to solve the problem is try with various HDMI cables until found one that works, I can't reproduce the problem in my devices, I am a lucky guy, Daemonium had the same problem in his device and he solved it with other HDMI cable.

Hey thanks for replying. Again I am a lit puzzled about what features make an hdmi cable good. So except price what other features to check? I will go to a store and ask for the most expensive hdmi cable or better ask for an hdmi cable that has this and that feature or support something?

Sorry for asking again about this but have no clue and for me all hdmi cables are same except the lenght

Sorry a lot, but I can't tell you what cable buy because I can't reproduce the issue so I can't check, the best is if you can buy and test the cable and if it don't work you can change it in your local seller. Daemonium and me have tons of cables in our homes, so we test them and luckily he found one that works well for him. If you have various cables in home, test with them, the defective cable used in the rk3188 will work great in other devices.
If you don't have any more HDMI cables, then buy a good one, Sony, or Philips, or other well known branded cable, but I can't assure you it will work, sorry but I can't concrete more

Ok thanks , Just to confirm the 2 cables I have works fine in an LG 49" TV but flickers in an 42" Philips TV.
So its not cable issue but cable-TV support issue.

Yes, as far I know the flickering is a combination of ITE chip, HDMI cable and TV . But I can't reproduce the issue with my rk devices, HDMI cables and TV.

                  Identifys as phone

                  Hi!

After installing this rom, my minix identyfies as a phone on my homenetwork, with name: rk30sdk.

Now i cant access movies thru smb in xbmc anymore, connection times out.
Do anyone know how to solve this? With the other rom, it worked fine.

                  EDIT:

I can access movies on the network thru ES fileexplorer, but not xmbc or spmc

                  Regards
                  Jonas

Back button is being triggered (It seems!)

                    Hi guys,

My X7 has been purring along for ages running QS3.1

But in the last 2 weeks or so something strange has been happening.

It seems that the back button is being pushed (by the device itself somehow) at random times, usually about 10 - 15 minutes apart.

So I will be watching something in MX Player and it will just stop and go back to the previous screen.
I will be browsing youtube and it will go back to the previous menu.
I will be browsing the internet and it will go back to the previous webpage.
I will be in an app and it will go back to the homescreen.
                    Etc...

I have tried taking the batteries out of the remote, and this still occurs. I have force closed all apps. Tried a restart or two. I'm starting to think I need to do a fresh flash.

It's as if the back button is being triggered internally by the system at random (but at least 5 - 6 times an hour)

Any ideas? This is making my Minx unusable for video.

Maybe interferences, did you try moving your device? I had some interferences but moving my devices solve my problem.

Tried moving it, same behaviour continues.
Will try a fresh flash this weekend.

Downgrading to QS V2 - Advice needed

                              Hi guys,

Sorry for all the posts lately!

I want to downgrade to QS v2. V3.1 has been absolutely great but I am getting some weird freezes in some videos and from what I have read this can be a problem in KK roms with H.264 video.

How do I downgrade from V3.1 to V2 safely? I remember there being some special steps to follow to avoid bricking the device?

                              Your help is greatly appreciated!
