NEW - Minix Neo X7 - Finless 1.9 ROM

Hi guys,

What is your ethernet speed with 1.9 guys?
I have change my nfs script to improve speed... but, my ethernet speed really sucks in nfs, or samba protocols.

I though ethernet Minix rom v10 was incredible! I have better score with X5, or S802 devices...

Got a max connection from 90mbits on speedtest.
No problems with nfs speed.

Call me new but ive done quite a few phone ROM's so I cant be called a newbie, just didn't do something right. I loaded this rom onto an EX SDCard and it wont install, I added it to the device sd card and it wont install. It says unpacking then a few seconds later I get android laying down with an exclamation mark in his belleh.

Oh wait I just realized I don't have twrp, is CMW....that bad im guessing. Whats the currnt TWRP for this box and were do get it and recommended install proceure?

You need to flash the ROM via pc.
Download the ROM and read the README.TXT would be a good start for a non newbie!

Yeah I I was overzealous about installing. Lol, I saw the instructions after I posed Its installing now. His notes say it reboots after installing and goes into twrp. I don't have a montor hooked up to the box, I am at my computer. How long does twrp take? if I unplug and reboot a thetv, do you thinkitwill hurt it?

Every device and processor has its own way of flashing so its always good to read ahead
I'd leave it a good 15-20mins maybe even 30 min to be super safe. TWRP only boots for a few minutes to wipe data before booting the ROM. You really want to let the kernel boot up before turning off that's why I say wait....

got my first boot but the rom would constantly freeze after booting. I choose the highest OC kernel, so I dropped to the one to the next ram speed. It is so smooth once up. That's totally impressive. Ill update when I get it stable and running with apps i use.

One thing I noticed about people not getting the internal SDcard formatted and it booting with no internal sdcard available.

Now I noticed that SOMETIMES the flash tool does NOT erase NAND even though it says it does. In other works you click erase and it comes back real quick and says complete! IT DID NOT ERASE NAND!!!!

You have to watch the erase process. Is MUST count up to close to 4096. If it does it fast and comes back at 0 then again it did not erase. This will cause my script I put in TWRP to not format internal sdcard.

I have a real early X7. It will run at 1902 with full DRR and GPU overclock. I have a feeling the T chip and even non-T chip processors made now, are not at the same level anymore. Sorry....

Like Intel back on the old Celeron 300's it did not last long. It is clear to me over many years that yeld on processors start out well but then they MUST unload those that do not test as high as needed BUT are good enough. The T chip is exactly that, chips that did not pass but RK decided they just cannot throw them away and thus the T chip! Pretty sure even the non-T chips are now not able to OC but will run at the expected speed. e.g. they meet and pass the required specs but nothing more.... Very common on a CPU that has been out for over a year now.

Sorry to tell you this but this is the CPU manufacturing process and fall out!

erased the nand and now my x7 isn't powering on

I just finished erasing the nand and before I clicked to flash the rom the minix box disconnected (windows made the device disconnected sound not physically disconnected). I tried putting it back into flash mode and it doesn't seem to do anything at all. No blue light in the front either. Is there anything I can do or is it bricked?

try this:
1. connect usb between pc and minix
2. press and hold the button (not the power button) on the back of minix (the one used for flashing)
3. press and hold the power button
4. device should be recognized by flashtool
5. release the flash button, but keep the power button pressed
6. erase NAND and restore the firmware
