For some reason mine wants to go central time rather then eastern which is the zone iam in.

Could be a minor bit of left over data too throwing it off so a total reinstall may fix it.
Or it could be a simple glitch for that time zone with the launcher.

I dont use the media box launcher so i never seen it.
Funny that my MXIII always wants to default to China Time. One of the cooler functions on My Router is a built-in Time Server. Even in the event of a Update or Device wipe, and it does default back to China Time. All I need to do is reset it back to CET +1h. I also have my Device set for 24h instead of the usual 12h (US Time).

I'm pretty stuck on the MBox Launcher, as I can't see the use for the Launcher3 Dash TBH.
So I can't say I've ever noticed this Bug before.

I am not sure I have really made myself clear regarding this trivial bug, here are snapshots of the launcher page with the wrong time, the launcher page with the right time and a browser page with the right time, all taken at about the same time:

It is obviously not a problem with the system not knowing and being able to reflect the correct time, it is a problem with how the Media Box launcher page indicates current time. Not of much importance and if it is never fixed, nobody will care I am sure but it is the only bug I have noticed with the new firmware on my own so I thought I would mention it.

Its clearly the launcher that's got the minor bug.
The browser page isn't actually showing time what your seeing is the stock ui (first picture)poking through since the MB launcher doesn't cover all aspects of the android system.

Its likely the system always on the correct time but the MB launcher got a graphics bug that makes it look like 00:11 for 12:11 and 00:22 for 1:22.

Easy mistake to make and fortunately a easy one to fix on thier part.

Not sure why but since update to 111k4 my MXIII when using SPMC or XBMC cannot see external sd. When I go to install from zip it cannot see external sd although I have ticked boxes which allow visibility. Didnt have this problem on 110k4 or previous roms. Checked my RK3066 and it 'sees' the sd no problem. Makes like harder as now I must copy zips to device before I can install..Regards

            Nice advancement

The actual 111k4 is in my opinion a big step forward.
My vdr pvr-addon vdrvnsi is now working nearly smoothly. Sometimes still some small glitches when switch channels. but these can rbve resolved by swithichig back and for agin.
HD channels are now running which was not possible in previous releases.

So I am quite happy. Many thanks for this release. It was a nice Christmas preseant!

The main remaining issue for my use case is Amazon Prime Instant video. Here the behaviour did noct change. It is working so far, that you can select videos to be played bak, but when starting playback it seems to switch to the prime instant video player, whcih opens for one second a blank screen and then closes.

I couldn't even get the prime instant video to install. Said my device wasn't supported for some reason.. I think its because its down as a tablet.. Didn't try and change the device ID. Anyone else got prime instant video to work?

I haven't read about firmware that provides acceptable Netflix, HBO GO or Amazon Prime Instant Video with these boxes. It might be some sort of spoof will work but I would think that would be temporary only. Either playback is poor or standard definition only, I just use an approved box for the mainstream streaming services.

Is it because of hardware limitations with these boxes or do you think is software/firmware?

It's GMS certification, there is always a trade off ...

Think drm and your closer to the mark.
They only want these apps working on devices they approve which makes it more difficult to get them working properly.

Ahhh OK so they're built with security to check what device you're using?

And it's expensive to make them work, certifications etc etc etc 😄

Combined with the makers being cheap and we get this mess.

Well I'm kinda cheap for buying it, lol 😄

I already had all of the mainstream streaming sources covered before I bought one of these boxes, I knew it wasn't good for that purpose before purchase and understood the reasons. As an inexpensive mini PC, capable of running Android apps and browsers, playing Android games and various other things, it does better than I expected. I am learning about how to use XBMC which I had installed on a Windows PC and didn't like some time ago. This time it looks better as a result of the efforts of the XBMC community improving it so much the last couple of years.
