    You're right.
    I already knew that.

In the end I think that general performance of P1 is more or less the same of the cube. And this is why I was not comparing "apples with pears".

What are the big differences between the two are other aspects.

Ha ha the aples and pears story goes on.

You compared your pipo m6 with the cube
instead of th pipo p1 and the cube.

      ************************************************** **********************************
But ok , what is more importand the way a tablet functions loose from all kind of tricks to get a good benchmark, and what do they proof at the end?

The android version and the added manufacturer stuff for daily use is of more importance in my vision.

      Cheers for today.

Ai for the accu and % charge problem I do not think there is a problem , there will be always tolerances in battery's and even the way the accu status is controled plays a role in this.
I think with my background in electronics there is NOTHING wrong with your tablet.

I totally agree with your sentence I underline in bold!

In the end the Cortex A17 architecture is far more advanced wrt Cortex A7, but the architecture itself doesn't mean anything, in my opinion is "on field performance" that makes the difference. (Of course I'm not saying that P1 is not a good performer!!! Because it is fast for sure).
But what I'm saying is that the MTK8392 Cortex A7@28nm cannot be compared to the Allwinner A31 Cortex A7@40nm (this one is slow and old and battery draining). The 8 core of MTK8392 are really fast! And cannot be confused as an "old system of 3 generations ago, as someone bad informed says".

PS: About "apples and pears" I was comparing external of the cube with the P1 (that is EXACTLY as the m6pro).

          You guys crack me up....!!!!!

At this point, we are either comparing MTK 8 core vs RK3288 4 core...vs RK3188 4 core.

I have one tablet of each. The iFive Mini 3GS and the Pipo P1. And the Pipo M6 Pro...basically the older brother or sister (are computers masculine or feminine?) to the P1 with an RK3188.

My P1 is noticably more responsive than the iFive and M6 Pro, but I can do the same things on all three. The P1 has some other features, like multi-window (which I haven't bothered to test...I wasn't too impressed with the feature when it came out in Jellybean...and went away with KitKat). And the ability to show 4k video files. I haven't put a clock to it, but with daily use of all three, the battery seems to last longer on the P1. The iFive sucks down battery pretty quickly. And we all know about the battery limitations of the M6 Pro...I just turn it off when I'm not using it...as I do all of my tablets. I use my smartphone to stay connected 24/7.

Granted, the firmware for the P1 is still developing, with updates appearing every few days. iFive is not as agressive with firmware updates as Pipo, but they have released one or two updates recently. Development has stopped for the M6 Pro...so it is what it is...unless Pipo decides to give me the sources (which I've asked for multiple times). Pipo broke GPS on their last firmware update...so hopefully they can fix that problem.

Bottom line is that each of these tablets are good products...all judgement is pretty subjective.

I've owned a Cube tablet. They are well built, solid tablets. I've just decided to focus on Pipo and iFive since my buddy 900Supersport does all of the Cube ROM's here on Freaktab.

I'm very very pleased with my Pipo P1 9.7" tablet. Fans of the 10.1" format should wait for the P9. The P4 is a good choice, too.

As far as my recommendation, I like Pipo, iFive and Cube products. It just depends on your personal preference. If you've had a bad experience with one brand...try one of the other two. There may be others, but these are my top three.

The iFive has a close CPU wrt the cube, the cube should be slightly faster.
Again I did not do any comparison about performance of the m6pro and the Cube, because their are part of different tablet generations, I only use the chassis and display of the m6pro (that is exactly the same of the P1), to make some considerations on the build quality, dimensions AND even more to do a personal judgement on the step forward from Pipo retina plastic display to IGZO glass display of the cube talk 9x.
            That's all.

I have no doubt that the SoC of the P1 is the fastest chinese at the moment. But I think that a tablet cannot be reduced only to an evaluation of the SoC. In my opinion there are other aspects that need more attention.

Randy, Teclast seems another promising brand now...

Re: Pipo P1 and P8 tablets with RK3288

It will be very interesting to follow devices using RK3288.
              P90HD
              Pipo P1
              Pipo P4
It's a lot of testing & development going on right now with new and improved ROMs, released about every second day.
A lot of users reports that these tablets hardwares are a major improvement compared to previous releases and let's give firmware tweaking guys some time ...and it could work out really well.

We also have intresting devices not built on Rockchip RK3288, but with similar build when looking at performance and one really nice example is Cube Talk 9X
This tab is reported to be good by many and ROM tweaking is burning hot here too.

Finally, we have really no-brand tablets to a somewhat afforable price that are capable to give us optimal Wi-Fi, 3G, CPU/GPU, battery performance to run smoothly during daily use.

Yes, coming month will be very interesting!

                you're right...
what seems not so promising is the new Allwinner A80.
Some reviews report bad performance and even worse stability...
Very strange, about SoC architecture, seemed promising to me

I think the p1 is really fast. It's is faster than Asus tf701 which I used to own, which has a tegra 4 processor, a pretty damn fast processor already. P1 just needs to get more stable. It hangs quite a bit. I have to reboot several times a day. Good thing it reboots rather fast. Pipo seems to release new firmware rather frequently. That's good.

for the m6pro, I struggled with this issues for more than 6 months. This is one of the reasons I switched to another brand.
It is not good to live as a beta tester forever.... A tablet must be used "normally"!!!
Not always with: bug, reboot, flash another FW and restore settings and so on...

I hope that for your P1 the story will be different....But as far as I'm reading seems almost the same!

For what I paid for the P1, RMB$1298 (~USD$209), I'm ok with the temporary instability. I actually enjoy the progress of flashing new ROMs to make it realize its potential. And it has potential. With RileyROM 1.3, the improvement is very significant. It got a lot much more stable now. That to me is even satisfying. I used to own a Asus TF201. That one was a ripoff. I paid USD $500 for an unstable, slow running POS which I have tried endless number of ROMs and it still sucked. That's was truly unacceptable. But the P1 is OK by me.

Is whit normal use I can not find anything strange or unstable?

                            Cheers

                              Hey Guys

Thank you for your discussion. I know that the diffrent tabs i asked for have diffrent CPUs and so on and till now i am happy with my M6pro. The battery drain is not really a problem. The Rileyrom works fine and it is really very better then the pipo stock rom. But like you guys already told it is sometimes very unstable and got lags and is hanging some times. cenectivity of 3g is also slow and if you turn on modem it takes a long time until you get a connection. This is why i think about buing the cube.

so thank you and back to the pipos!

I found an interesting article about battery life of the pipo p1 to cngadget. The battery lasted more than 11 hrs on a video playback loop. Do you Pipo p1 owners think it is real ?
