Its a very small hole on the same side as the otg port about the middle of the stick. A sharp toothpick fits easily you need to probe around a little to find the tiny button that needs to be depressed while you plug in the power. Hope that helps.
    Cheers,

Ok, I had seen it, I tried to find the button with a needle with no luck, I'll try again tomorrow, thank you for answering!

still cant get twrp or cwm to work with this stick, getting black screen and bootloop, wondering if its anything to do with using D33 kernel. what does twrp need to be able to boot?? damn recovery niggles me

I've installed this rom with no issues, I don't see any bug so far, it seems to be pretty stable, no reboots yet, in general, it works like a charm.
I have modified the pointer cursors by a more decent one (if you are going to release a new version, it would be nice you'd include a diff one, the stock pointer is ugly as hell and huge).

I only miss being able to set different volume settings for each category (media/notifications/etc...)

          Thank you veclinux

On a Tronsmart MK908II, in particular this one:
China-1 Stock | Buy Tronsmart MK908II RK3188T Cortex-A9 Quad Core 1.4GHz Google Android 4.2 Mini TV BOX 2G/8G Bluetooth External Wifi Antenna-Black online at unbeatable prices. ✓Free Shipping ✓Limited Time Sale ✓Local Warehouses.

I don't know if there are different version of this model, I have not dissasembled it (yet?), I only have it since a few days ago, and I started working on it yesterday.
It seems all these tv sticks have a lot of clones or revisions, so if you want to know more details about mine, just guide me a little to recognize this particular model.

              EDIT: I think there is a mk908ii with a quad-core 1.6ghz, this is 1.4ghz.

Your model has the t chip and runs slower than the original 3188 , try D33 kernel it will allow it to run at 1.6

Ok, I'll do it, I still have to read the whole thread, I think it's been mentioned before (D33 kernel).
what is completely new to me is that "t chip", any reference or link where to read?

There is a thread about that chip in the rk3188 main section, it is a locked down version probably to also sell the not fully capable chips

what about temperature with this kernel?

Temps are OK for me, stick is on permanently, I don't get any reboots or crashes.
Not found any software that can monitor temps on 3188 but its stable so
Must still be within its limits, its about 6 month old now and gets heavy use, mainly
Xbmc and YouTube and some gaming. I'm using the 720p kernel as I only have a 720p TV
I think it struggles a bit with the 1080p kernel, user interface not as smooth etc.

Hey, I've just used the reboot app and reboot into recovery to see what kind of recovery I had, and now I can't boot the system anymore, every time I disconnect the power supply it boots into recovery again and again.

Do you know what to do?

EDIT: after waiting for a few minutes it finally booted up by itself. ufff

EDIT2: weird! after finally get into the system, now some few system app I had already removed have appeared again!! (ehomemedia center, launcher3...). It's been like booting into recovery has restored the system partition.

I'm now having this issue when I install a D33 kernel:

@Magnus33 is you rom still available? is there any other way to work around this issue without having to flash a new firmware?
