I made the mistake of flashing a generic cwm recovery onto my device and now my USB hub has stopped working (no idea why that would happen but it has). Does anyone know how I can flash the stock recovery back without having to data wipe the device?

cant see how flashing recovery will cause your usb hub to stop working, just flash the stock recovery as you did with cwm.

Stick packed up yesterday, froze on youtube app after being left on over night (stick is powered on permanantly) had to pull the power and reboot, got a message to enter a password to decrypt storage, i never used storage encryption. Had to reflash to get it working again, hope its not on its way out!!!!!!!!!!

Ouch.

Sadly it probably is but you could have corruption do to a power spike or the like.
If that's the case reinstalling may fix the problem.

If your correct then a hammer likely the only thing going to fix it

This rom bigger then V version 4 rom do to a couple of fixes and editing.

App size is about 4 gig minus stock apps.
Screenscale is fixed
TWRP now loads fine just flash like you do a kernel but pick recovery instead and chose the included TWRP file.
Checked recovery now loads fine haven't had anytime to mess with other options in it.

Let me know how its running.

Ps: if you want to load new D33 kernels and chose SD your going to need to change the lcd density from 240 to 160 with this.

I just got my Tronsmart mk908ii from geekbuying and immediately installed the ROM in your post. In addition I installed kernel_KK_v4.2.5_TVSTICK_AP6210_HD.img.
Unfortunately video and audio in Netflix are not in sync. This is critical because Netflix is what my kids mainly use. Is it a known issue ? I haven't tested anything else.

I just got my Tronsmart mk908ii from geekbuying and immediately installed the ROM in your post. In addition I installed kernel_KK_v4.2.5_TVSTICK_AP6210_HD.img.
Unfortunately video and audio in Netflix are not in sync. This is critical because Netflix is what my kids mainly use. Is it a known issue ? I haven't tested anything else.

You could try the original Kernel which is included in the ROM, so no different one.

My experience is also that flashing is not going well each time. Sometimes I have problems which are solved when reflashing exact the same way. So you could also try that.

Does netflix offer an option to delay/speed up the sound? (quite a few videoplayers offer this setting, because it's a common problem).

Try a different power cable. Solved all my problems, make sure the voltage is high enough in the ones you try

Thanks for the suggestion, tried 2 different chargers (original and HTC) and 2 different cables, but still random reboots. So seems to me it's in the unit, or in the rom...
Should a different kernel make a difference? Haven't changed that at all, so I guess it's still on a stock version.

Apps forget settings.

For some reason some apps keep forgetting settings after reboots. The icons on launcher desktop dissappear after reboot. Google play resets, and starts updating apps, while I set it to not update automatically.

I already tried re-installing apps, deleting /data/data/com.android[app] dirs, reflashing rom. Nothing does help. This also happened with other ROMS. Any ideas?

sorry for this newbie question but... how I enter in recovery/bootloader mode with this tronsmart mk908ii? there is no reset button as in other devices.
