ill try. I got someone who said is going to sponsor me to a unit, and instead of getting myself a nice new faster unit I choose to get the 809III with old wifi so i can make the kernel for you guys.

What unit you have and where u got it fron so I can get a similar one.

Good luck - but I'm not sure that's a good idea . . . there's like 4 different types of MK809III, and unless someone sends you theirs specifically - I don't know how to guarantee what you're going to get.

I ordered 6 from Amazon, the same vender. They were all AP6210 wifi, but 4 were RK3188, and 2 were RK3188T.

I'm not sure how you can guarantee you'll get the old wifi, and wouldn't want to see you waste your money.

Hi, thanks for this great rom! the v3 has cure the missing icons problem.

I would like to ask a simple question, how to change wallpaper?

When I press and hold the desktop, it came up with the option with "Wallpapers, Widgets, Themes".However when you press wallpapers, it did not provide wallpapers for your selection, instead, it came up with the previous tasks!

Also, if Themes was selected, it just returned you to the desktop!

The only option functions normally is Wigets which provides various widgets from different apps.

Is there a way to set wallpaper instead?

Because this version of Launcher (Trebuchet) doesn't have any wallpapers or Themes built in when you click those buttons will just return to desktop. This is not big deal. You can just go to Gallery, select the image you want, click the 3 dots right hand top cornet, set as, wallpaper, and that's it.

I changed to Trebuchet, and not the last version of Trebuchet, because the default Launcher had a bug, when placing icons on the same line with the drawer icon, after reboot, the last 2 icons from the left side would disappear. Also the last version of Trebuchet had an issue, the wallpaper and themes in the last version works, but after you set the wallpaper, this would turn black whenever, so for now this is the latest version of Trebuchet that keeps all the icons on the desktop also the wallpaper.

Now if the old launcher was not an issue, you can go back to V2, or just change the wallpaper from the gallery for now. As soon as a working version of trebuchet is released ill try it and if it works I´ll update the rom for you guys.

Alternatively you can install any launcher from google play.

No this kernel is for RK90X, BCM4330 and AP6xxx

This community should make a bigger effort to support manufacturers/devices with good hardware control. I know that's already true with Minix, but there's got to be less expensive alternatives that don't just swap hardware at the drop of a hat.

Mine boots as 1.4 GHz with the 1.8 GHz full range kernel because it is a RK3188T not a RK3188. Rockchip chose to lock the T's, perhaps they are sub prime chips, I don't know for sure. My MK809III was advertised as having a 1.8 GHz RK3188 cpu, it doesn't.
There are some kernels that contains code to bypass the cpu frequency lock but using them comes with the risk of premature failure. My most recent MK809III purchase has a piece of thermal silicone pad stuck in the case rather than a metal heat sink, it runs much warmer than the one that has a metal heat sink. On both I soldered in an external antenna to get around the low signal issue. I get a solid 65 Mbps now, it made a huge difference.

They locked the T to 1.4 because aparantly over 1.4 will be unstable.
