    hdmi signal drop

can anybody help me please...till now i've been using neomode 1.3 720p Rom. I've flashed yours on my MK802IV non T. everything is working fine expect hdmi signal drops every few seco ds and then comes back. i also noticed some artifacts on screen. I've tried all kernels and the same. I remember i have had the same problem with all 1080p based roms. Is it power supply related? i've tried original DC and one 2.1A and several differet hdmi adapters. Please help.

You can try kernel marked kernel_24Hz_i and when you did it, find resolution like 1080x50i or1080x60i and your flickers will disappear. It is probably related to amount of USB power you use, KitKat needs more than 0.5A, which mostly is delivered by television USB port.

It's almost certainly your power supply. At one friend's house, the stick would only boot at 720p using the tv's USB. At 1080p there were screen artifacts. Using a 2 amp power supply solved the problem.

At another friend's house, the stick wouldn't boot at all without using a 2 amp power supply.

thanks for your kind reply. but the problem is that i've been using 2A and 2.1A...never used it with USB TV. Should it be at 3A?

Is it the one that came in the box with the stick? Because it's worthless. It was one of the supplies we tried on the 2nd friend's TV and it wouldn't even boot.

It needs to be a solid, reputable power supply.

If you are using Smic's V2 ROM, you can find folder Kernels inside, install kernel kernel_24Hz_i.img and change the resolution to any of them ending with »i« like 1920x1080x50i which needs less power and you will have no flickers. When you find proper Power Supply use any other resolutions ending with »p«.

Yep. HDMI dropouts are certainly caused by poor current feed to your stick / box. I swear by the use of high quality power supplies and the only black outs I have are the result of a huge air conditioner unit firing up on an adjacent circuit. I run an iLuv 2.1A psu to my stick, and an Asus 2.1A psu to a usb hub.
Consider a 2.1A power supply to be the base requirement for current potential if you want a stable device. At about 0.5A, TV usb ports lack sufficient strength to power an average tv stick. Don't rely on them or factory supplied power supply units. Although most factory shipped PSUs state 2.1A capability, most can only handle that current in short peaks and will fail when put to hard work. Additionally, keep usb peripherals attached to an independantly powered hub. Connecting anything to a devices onboard usb port(s) will draw from the same power it does, effectively "stealing" base current. Low drain devices such as a usb keyboard dongle to the device will be of little concern, but HDDs, ethernet adapters and other high drain devices will rob power and cause power clipping. Insufficient amperage results in wifi strength issues, spontaneous app and/or system restarts, video artifacts, HDMI dropout and (if powered through stick/box) loss of usb drive mount.
                  Hope that helps someone.....

I have just instaled this rom and i see that i have 1 gb internal storage (200 mb free) and 5 gb nand flash allmost free. It's that normal? Can i install big apps like asphalt (1.5 gb)?

just change the parameter. inside the rom folder you have 4 parameters rename parameter to patameter_old and rename one of the other parameter file to parameter. the number after parameter is the amount of space asign to user. For example rename parameter4 to parameter to get 4GB

If you change the parameter you have to flash all the partitions and will loose everything

                            @smic717394

                            Just wonder.

There is a small lag in video playback, which is probably caused by drivers not correctly calibrated how to handle memory, you know after memory is filled, it makes a lag during emptying.

Could you make a kernel based on kernel_24Hz_i.img but with 1704 CPU and slightly overclocked DDR. I just would like to experiment something. Thank you.

                                mk802iv black webcam

Hi there, tnx smic for the rom that solve almost every problem for my minipc...
Hi have your rom with "default" installation, and a Logitech C310 webcam that works perfectly with latest 4.4 stock (poor) rom.
Now I have only the "black webcam" problem; is there a fix for this? After solving this, your rom is PERFECT!

                                TIA,

                                W
