Cube Talk 9x U65GT ROM based on Cube's V 1.8 firmware of 3 September 2014

I had something called Launcher3. Never heard of it, so installed Nova launcher. I think the launcher I'm thinking of is called Trebuchet. I just found an app on the market which allows the installation of CM apps. Unfortunately I tried Trebuchet and it said not installed.

I too am using Nova. Works great.

Mine is rooted, but still using the stock ROM. There are not too many Chinese's apps, so it is no big bother.

I am now using Boat browser for tabs, and it is doing quite well ...better for me than the stock browser. The stock one is apparently a Dolphin derivative, as it shows as Dolphin installed when I look at Dolphin at the Google Play store.

Next step is to hopefully get the new Dolphin beta 11 loaded ...maybe bring back flash in a stable browser. The current Dolphin has glitches, of course.

ALL Chinese apps can be removed on stock rom too, only root is needed,
to uninstall an unwanted chinese app that cannot be uninstalled normally, you need to use titanium backup

Rooted successfully! . only i rooted about 3 times... not sure if its just me or does the different partitions 2gb, 4gb and 6gb. effect the speed of the tablet as well?

Im using a 16gb one but noticed also when i look at the storage and add up the amount of storage its only 13gb. anyone else notice this? - not a problem tho, as imfine with the storage it does have, as can fit all the apps and games i play on it anyway. just wondered why its showing as just over 10.gb and 2gb app storage.

apart from that this tablet is amazing. i notice tho a lot of the apps i usually play don't show on the market. is that a rom issue? as hadn't checked when i was on stock rom. again not too much hassle but would be good to know. i get passed this by using market helper to trick Google play to think i am using a different device so i can download the games i have payed for which wont show up on this device but work flawlessly.

also i find the keyboard lags ....anyone else have this problem? and know how to fix?

and 1 more thing all the games work perfect from what ive played so far...although asphalt 8: airbourne on highest graphics seems to be glitched out and shows a checkered square on the screen. anyone know a fix for this?

This happens with each and every device in the market... It has 16GB storage but some of this space is used for other system partitions and another part is lost when formating the physical space to be able to store files... Technical stuff...

You can check every hard drive and SD card you have... If it states 250GB on the label, it will have less than that when you check the actual storage space available to be used by the OS.

Where are you acquiring the OEM firmware ROM for September 3rd? I do not see the ROM on the cube-tablet.com download page.

Question from Athens Greece about 3rd September rom from 900supersport

Hello to all on this Forum and to the ones who share a Cube talk 9X.

My real name is Alkis by the way and I come from Athens Greece (still sunny here...).
I have in my possession for 3 months A cube talk 9x and I am very happy with it. As I read you are all happy with it.
3 days ago I have installed the "3rd September Rom" based on 1.8 ver. from this wonderful guy called "900supersport" (is your real name Brian or am I wrong?)

To be honest I took the link from another great site called Gizchina who posted a link and instructions in English.

The Rom looks great and everything till now works plain perfect.
One small and question for you all (or for you maybe 900supersport ). When I flashed the rom using flash tool, I did everything as supposed based on instructions and waited for the flashing. the strange thing is that while in the flashing process nothing looked to progress, i mean tablet had not any sigh that was doing the update and flash tool was idle. the only sign was that my HDD flashed meaning something went live there. Now the fun part. after few minutes ( i think round 10) i took decision and removed the USB cable. Then talk 9x came to life and the bootanimation start with a tiny word "900supersport" under the cube's log. after finishing boot my tablet had those new look with tiles from new ROM, it was much smoother and everything was ok. I mean I tried , GPS, WiFi tested all apps, Google play etc. everything was OK. So I wrote all this to understand if I did something wrong. Have anyone of you experienced this strange thing on flash process? For the record I have made a titanium back up of everything already just to be sure

That sounds odd, when flashing with spflashtool you should see the progress bar fill and then have a dialogue displayed with a large tick on completion. The cube itself will remain black until you start it up. As you ar seeing my boot animation you should be good.

Hi. Bought my cube from ACube Australia and have a similar ROM. If you don't need root, chrome browser fix or brightness fix and happy with partitions no need to flash
