Yes I know, but some posts earlier, codesnake said maybe it will work (802 inside) and need to be try.
The try is done, but it seems that the problem is just because the ref of the CSM8 device is not include in the package.

Originaly, in our build.prop, the ro.product.device is "k200", and in case of the CSM8 have been flashed with a Finless ROM, it's referenced as a "manta" (Nexus 10).

Perhaps just by adding these two ref into it's condition for installation of the ROM it will works for us too.

That's because you have downloaded a wrong firmware. You downloaded for G18 (MX2), but you need for M8 (K200). Read carefully before downloading, because you can brick your box.

- flash in progress ... automatically with extracted files on SDCard.
- reboot
- Open Elec Splashscreen
- XBMC Splash screen
- XBMC/Openelec Menu.

I test all functions right now, and back to you with a feedback ...

Have the m8 802 installed as per instructions looks great and runs even better. Just one question can I or how do I install ultimate xbmc ux (donated version)on this rom. If it can be done I would appreciate any advice. I am new to the Linux stuff and any advice on how to install this on this rom would be appreciated. I was on finless 1.8 before but this one is slick quick and very nice. Again any dvice on how to install UX would be appreciated. FANTASTIC ROM

Everything is playing fine. Once in a while if I do a 30 second forward skip I get this Pink line going across my screen. It doesn't happen every single time I skip forward but it does happen.

So ... my feedback.


Firstly, the IR remote is not ok. At all.
Concerning the Finless ROM, I had to replace the file remote.conf to have it working.


So I plugged a USB keyboard, and set the basic settings :
- LAN Eth and Wifi are OK, perhaps an instability with the wifi, because I had a lot of buffer errors, even on small files.
- Language and keyboard mapping through the Openlec Menu (ok with french AZERTY)
- SMB file sharing on my NAS.
- Video playback OK, sound also.
- AirPlay ok (audio only, even if the icon with video appears on iOS devices ... in this case in didn't work at all, but ok for Spotify for exemple).
- SSH ok also.
- Menus are fast. Very very fast comparing the Android XBMC version.
- Boot extremly quick also ...


Seems to be really really good, except for 3 things.
- I didn't find how to configure the remote of the CSM8.
- Bluetooth is not reconized (not a problem for me).
- Video playback is crappy, a lot of blocks appears, I can see clearly the artefacs of compression.
I have recovered the poor quality of the XBMC ROMstock playback which have been really really improved when I flashed the Finless ROM and run the 13.2 XBMC downloaded from XBMC website.
But by the way I should admit that I've tested ROMstock with bad videoplayback on a device (the one I've installed OpenElec), and test Finless wich was ok with video on another.
Perhpas my problem of creepy video is an hardware problem, so I'll try to flash this CSM8 with a Finless ROM to check if playback will be improved.
I also have got 2 others totally unboxed CSM8 to do some tests, by flashing Openelec and see if the poor quality will be present on these device too, or not. :-)


As it runs on CSM8, I assume it should also work on Tronsmart S89 (the rounded box) ... perhaps with the same IR remote problem.

u don't have problem with csm8 ?when I install finless ROM all was OK but when I restart box to factory I have strange problem when I power of a device unplug power and push power back csm8 lose all install apps all settings all stufs like wipe cash and factory,I think maybe they put something in ROM generetic and when box lose power automatic wipe all ,u have openelec for s82 on RU forum all works but I don't know how to center to fit skreen looks like 100% I need 92%

Are you saying that, since you've installed Finless, and back to ROMstock, you can't keep app and settings if you reboot the box (or unplug) ?

To be honnest, I've not returned to ROMStock from Finless ... so, no, I've not this problem. :-/

Do you have a CRT TV (cathodic TV) and not a LCD/Plasma, and then you want to reduce the interface size to fit your screen ? Have I well understood ?

tried enabling hdmi with ac when i go into system setting i can scroll up and down but menu

Copy that line to a notepad file calling it autostart.sh putting in the correct path and file name.

A good path for the remote.conf would be /storage/.config/ as its browsable via windows. So copy the remote.conf there

Copy autostart.sh to the path /storage/.config/

Reboot.

I tried this but no luck.

This is in my autostart.sh:

amremote_config /storage/.config/remote.conf

I copied both this file and the remote.conf to the .conf directory. rebooted the M8 but the remote does not work properly.

Did I miss something maybe?

Did you try Stane's AMLinux? Shoud be the same thing and 100% working with your Tronsmart s89
