[ROM] OpenELEC for Amlogic-based TV boxes (M8, MXQ, TV110, MX2/G18)

Any maps which need adding/changing can be done within the xbmc keymaps. A lot easier than trying to define a definite linux remote.conf

      New build for M8

Here's the promised new build for M8 box.
      Updates in this build:
      • Fixed an issue when you cannot install any addons from OpenELEC official and unofficial repositories. Now you can install tvheadend, vdr, etc.
      • Fixed SD-card not mounting issue
      • Added support for Realtek 8188EU Wi-Fi module that seems to be used in some M8 models.
      • Loads remote.conf from /storage/.config if it exists, otherwise loads standard /etc/remote.conf

Received my M8N from Acemax today.

Should I be ok to install this?

I think it should work, but the only way to ensure this is to install and try.

Thanks for adding the new wi-fi support, I'm really looking forward to trying it out. We really are spoilt for choice at the moment - your work is very much appreciated

Anyone know why on every linux rom I get no audio?
Is this openelec comaptible with H8&M8 V2.0 pcb.
I have only tried this build with V1.0 pcb but I have a clone M8 and would like to try it out.

Everything working perfectly on my M8N except the remote (as expected). Some of the keys are wrongly mapped (e.g. Volume, context menu etc).
I copied the original remote.conf found in the stock rom to /storage/.config then rebooted but that messed the remote mappings even more. What is the best way for remapping the keys?

                      This is the remote:

For example, the Menu (context menu) button is swapped with the VOL-

What do I need to change in the following remote.conf (taken from /etc)?

                      Code:
                      # ZAP-A10 NEC remotefactory_code = 0xfe010001
                      work_mode       = 0

Edit: Even if I copy the exact same file from /etc/remote.conf in /storage/.config and reboot, the remote does not work at all.

How are we supposed to update an existing install with the .tar file? The recovery doesn't seems to recognized .tar file ... and inside the .tar there is a system and kernel file?

Put the .tar file in the openelec update folder and reboot openelec then updates itself.

I thought for Openelec you need to copy the four files found in the target folder of the .tar to the Update folder.

It is not necessary to unpack the TAR file. If you put whole TAR into the Update directory, OpenELEC will unpack it itself.

You need it update through samba, no need to unzip it.
