More brilliance! Thank you for making this a priority. I can't wait to install the update when I get home tonight.

On which MXQ box will you be making the S805 openelec build?
      With or without Bluetooth?
I'm thinking to order one but want to run openelec on it instead of Android

You can also consider the MXQ box, which is based on S805 chip. It has less powerful GPU, but is cheaper than S802-based boxes and features support for HEVC hardware decoding.
So s805 is better than s802 2gb boxes? h265 is future standart. But MXQ is 1.6ghz and 1gb it is slower than 2gb and 2.0 ghz ? And pm me paypal account for donation. I wanna give beer for your hard work's

Well, S805 does not support 4K. S812 however, supports both 4K and H.265. So that would be the best IMO.

I think there's no significant difference between the two. They should work both.

Yes. s812 is best. But software is very importent. Codesnake can make port openelec for s812? This is question.

Yes, I can, but I don't have any device based on S812.

                  installed OpenELEC-CodeSnake-Meson8-K200-devel-320a148 on MXIII

                  Hello codesnake,

I installed this firmware on my mxIII box..
Quick install and cec works.. But it freezes real quick.. (HDMI)
And i need to reboot. maybe hdmi with cec problem.

                  - cec works
                  - wifi works
                  - very fast

So i decided to get back to android. I hope that there will be a stable firmware for MXIII soon.

Or do you have a solution that i could try?

Installed the full version on my H8M8 box. (I find it best to do a clean wipe with any update).

HDMI-CEC is working beautifully, and the build is running well. Even better than being able to use my TV remote, I can now switch the box and TV on and off together with a single button.

                    Thank you.

How would you compare the M8 with the MXQ with regard to value for money? (performance, stability, price, features/hardware etc)

@codesnake: For which of the following MXQ boxes will you base your S805 ROM? Any idea of their differences?

                        ETA would also be welcome

My MXQ as on the first picture, but the remote is as on the second picture. I don't know exactly how they are different internally.

I think the last one had a SPDIF and the upper has not

I think the one with the red MX logo on the corner has bluetooth while the other one (which looks exactly like the dual core MX2) does not.

The red box comes in 1g and 2g versions with the 2g having Bluetooth. From reviews both boxes are very similar. The black box by eny has a very poor nand chip which makes it unstable and cripples it. I have 1g red boxes and I'm very happy with them.
