That's strange. I use my M8 square in 1080p mode without problems.

        i Installed the new version,
I checked that out fo the box the resolution is 720 and everything works ok.
When I change to 1080p it freezed.
There must be a problem with the resolution.

Nothing to do with a reluctant a/v receiver in the middle?

I will provide both an update and an image for new installations in the coming days.

You need to unapck the https://googledrive.com/host/0B4FNwq...el-320a148.zip archive onto sdcard (you should get 3 files on it), insert it into the box, and enter recovery using toothpick. Installation should start automatically.

                      CEC

How do I enable the remote CEC feature?

I have a samsung TV where I have the CEC on.

I went to xbmc System -> Settings -> System -> Input Devices -> Peripherals

But I see nothing there related to this

                      thanks.

You don't need to enable anything, it should work out of the box.

Rebuild OpenELEC from sources with any librtmp you want.

                                What are the beneifts?

I've been quite happy with my Finless Android firmware for my MX2. I get quite good video playback etc.

What is the attraction and benefits of switching to OpenELEC?

Here are some issues I am having in Android that I am hoping can get resolved in Linux (but perhaps I am being too hopeful):

                                1) No bluetooth dongles work in Android. I have 4 different types - I would like to use one to connect my slick Apple Bluetooth keyboard. Does OpenELEC support bluetooth through one of these external USB adapters?

                                2) Although video playback is great, it is limited to 30fps. I sometimes get some media files that are 60fps or Live TV channels that broadcast in 60fps. These are extremely choppy and unplayable in Android. I assume that the MX2 just doesn't have the horsepower to make this happen. Or does OpenELEC deliver enough efficiency to make decoding of 60fps possible?

                                Thanks for any insight provided!
