    M8 Amlogic S802 Quad Core Cortex-A9 2.0Ghz Android 4.4 TV BOX 4K

I did not save the original image of the stock kitkat firmaware this M8 Amlogic S802 Quad Core Android 4.4 TV Box 4k came with and installed the OpenElec to test over it. Now when i try to install the Stock firmware that is on this site or any other says that it cannot install this package ( Fri May 16 14:11:47 CST 2014) over newer build (Sri Ruj 3 05:52:50 CEST 2014). I just would like to be able to reinstall the droid software or a newer package if there is. I would really apreciate it if someone could help me out with this problem and redirect me to the right firmware. Thanks in advance. I love XBMC but i also would like to have the Droid interface back specially for navigating.

It was just so that I don't know how to go back to Android. I forgot to make a backup before I installed openelec.

I love openelec for real. But it's annoying that I can't use 1080 and cec on my m8 box. The rest of your version is working flawless. It's super.
, but on Android m8 cec and 1080 was working.

Don't know what the problem is. But something is screwed up I guess.

If you was able to install OpenELEC on your M8, then you should be able to install Android as well. The process is absolutley identical.

Oké thanks. Now let's find the right package than.

Isn't there anything you can do about the cec and 1080 not working?

To fix an issue I should be able to reproduce it, but 1080p and CEC work without any problems on my M8.

Oké. Well that's not your problem. To bad it doesn't work.

                Isn't there a way to force 1080?

I'm a openelec lover. But gonna switch over now. Maybe a new version of your openelec and it wil work.

Thanks for the hard work and fast reply 's

IMO, codesnake should be more than a normal user in the forum considering he has provided the best ROM for the M8 box so far

                            good afternoon all

ive just gotten one of these M8 devices on the premise that it offers tru-hd and dts-hd passthrough.
i think they are lying about this.

i have tried using the android software that came with the box and xbmc pre-installed. didnt work

now im trying this openelec as ive heard reports it works but its not for me.

i have tried 2 builds of openelec, a gotham build and a new kodi build, both offers options for passing through dts-hd but both fail to actually pass it my amp. the video is really jerky when playing back files with dts-hd.

my m8 is plugged into my yamaha amp aswell, which definatley supports dts-hd as i used to use my ps3 for it.

ive been reading around but i cannot find no definitive answers, will this openelec passthrough dts-hd / tru-hd?
