been using v1 since yesterday, stereoscopic 3d is working, also refresh rate changing is working good too. kodi 14.2 . happy so far. also an option to use software decoding for SD stuff is awesome too.

only thing missing now is 4k resolution working, i only get 1080p when selecting 3840x2160

M8 freezes in System settings

I installed OpenElec 5.0.3 on my M8N device but the systeem freezes as soon as I open the Kodi System Settings.

The OpenELEC for Amlogic 5.0 RC3 with Kodi 14.0 Helix RC3 doesn't have this problem. Hope Codesnake can solve this in the stable version.

I've updated to openelec 5.0.3, and copied over my old userdata folders etc, Everythings ok except when i search for things, the onscreen keyboard is blank and doesn't have any letters.

Any ideas?

Your previous skin and setting aren't compatible with Kodi. What skin are you using?

How's the power on and power off options.

same as other builds for me, when i power off the TV the device powers down via CEC.. only the stock remote will turn the box back on.

How about the stock remote for powering it down and are you able to powering down with the shutdown menu?

yes my stock remote powers it down and up and so does the shutdown menu

v1 is the same kernel

v2 is a new updated kernel (could give video playback issues)

are u Is it the 506 Jonke made with Kerber's. That's the only 506 that I know of. But that has the remote freeze up problems.....are u having that problem where u can move remote for a few sec???

Sorry Code, we're just trying to figure out this M8 overlay on top of videos problem. Your 5.0.5 on my G Box Q doesn't have this problem and runs real good. But have seen some other members have the overlay problem on your 5.0.5

I made a mistake the 5.0.5 was not compiled by you but another member. But it is compiled from your OpenELEC build. I got confused, I forgot your last build was 5.0.3.

Any further ideas on how to avoid the 1080 option being greyed out on a M8 box flashed with codesnake's OpenELEC?

Do we need to set the resolution in Android before flashing? I've set up two boxes now and one can do 1080 and one cannot.
