There is a text browser somewhere in the repositories. Maybe you can you use it to connect to the wifi. If the log-in page isn't loading you can use your phone to get the address and type it manually in your M8s browser.

          Hello CodeSnake,

I am very interested in your work. I presently do not have a box that will run your openelec. On the first page of this thread you say that you have a flash for "M8 (K200) with Amlogic S802 SoC". I am interested in acquiring:
          • M8 (K200) with Amlogic S802 SoC
Kodi box, however there are many boxes on Aliexpress that claim to be an M8 box. Doing a search for "M8 (K200) with Amlogic S802 SoC" does not bring any tv box up on an Aliexpress.com search. Can you kindly state the manufacturer of this box and perhaps provide a link to the manufacturer's website so that I and anyone else who sees this thread will know exactly what M8 box to get in order to have his/her newly acquired box flash correctly with all the features. The Chinese vendors are not keen on revealing any information on manufacturer of their device and specific information about the type of hardware they are selling. I hope you understand.

Thank you very much in advance.

Anyone try any of the M8 builds on a 4k TV. Seems to be causing a blank screen after boot up

MikeD, great info, and thanks, will have a look for the browser. Also looking for a way to put DDNS server info into OpenElec. I see I can put my OpenVPN certificates in OpenElec but I am not sure what format I must load them in PKS12 or ZIP

Hi jackmate. Did you buy the M8 with codesnake openelec or you upgrade it yourself?

Install Megatron's android build for the M8 and then install OpenELEC.

Here's the link for Megatron. Download the first link for M8

I was hooking up my box to an surround sound receiver and got video but no audio at all, not even any sounds going through the menus. Would I be able to just hook up the box to the tv with hdmi and hook up the optical cable into the receiver for sound? Or can I just hook the box to the receiver with hdmi and also optical to the receiver for sound?

                            Thanks

Hi al8782. I have connected my M8 to my TV via HDMI and at the same time the M8 is also connected with optical to my surround. Sound is passing to both devices so you will need to set the volume to 0 on the TV.
In the end, i have video directly from the M8 to the TV via the HDMI and sound via the optical from the M8 to the surround.
