I use Kodi 14.1 version with advanced settings enabled about full buffering .
When i use kodi to watch a film or a series episode and watching while buffering there is stuttering every 5 minutes or so but this is variable.
When i leave the film to full buffer there is no stuttering at all.

    I have a Beelink and i use wasser's 2.0.5 latest firmware.
Can anybody confirm this or i am the only one that noticed that?
And if that is happening what is the fault ? Slow nand speed ? Slow hard drive ? Or what the box is using at last?
For sure it is not a Kodi problem as i see.
    Any ideas maybe?
I confirm , but only on 1080p , stream torrent and any thing 1080p.

If you use cachemembuffersize 0 it writes to the internal sd and causes stutters in playback.
When using default settings or a higher number it uses the internal memory which is faster.

Apps like popcorn time also writes torrents to internal sd and this causes lots of stutters.

I use Genesis with 20mb cache and works flawless.

Hi Wasser. First off all I'd like to tell you Thank you , for your job.
I'm using your FM all ready a month. 99% all works just fine. I have Harman Kardon Home center. Beelink connected through HDMI. HD movie with DTS sound , working time to time. Some times , no problem or suddenly start stuttering loudly until I will switch of pass-through.
It will be grate if you able to fix this.

            My config:
            Beelink R89 with wasser-2.0.5-beelink-r89-rk3288, SPMC

I understand what you are writing but , i guess the issue is that the box or the firmware has a problem when doing two jobs at once.

              Explain myself :
When i buffer the movie from Genesis lets say and watching simultaneously and lets say that i have left it buffer the half of the movie it stutters when i am watching randomly.
When i leave the movie to full buffer and then watch no stutters at all.
So as i see it perhaps you are right and if i leave alone the internal drive and tell RAM to buffer i will not have any problems , but in this case i can not buffer the full movie since the buffering size will depend on my settings .
Your settings should be ok if you have a very fast Internet spped . In my case that i can download 1mb/s on average 20mb of cache will be nothing at all while watching a movie in HD .
i will try your way but telling ram to buffer 200mb ( 600mb used RAM ) since i use the box only for Kodi .
I will report the findings after that.
Has anyone the read/write speed of the internal hard drive? Is it slow or Wasser is right about the kernel issue?

Is there a way to tell Kodi to buffer on a very fast external sd card , so to leave alone the internal drive????

BTW: zero cache isn't a good idea because you stress your nand because of all the continues read/writes (the same at torrent)...

If you want to use zero cache you should thinking about maping it to external SD

or optimize your advancedsettings.xml to use more RAM

Because the performance at the SD reader is something between >12.5 MB/s and < 25MB/s you should use a "Samsung EVO microSD 32GB" because of the fast read/writes at random....

                    Thanks for the info .

I preferred the second option. I gave 400mb of RAM and everything works as good as possible .
It buffers a dissent amount of the movie and while buffering there are no stutters at all even in .
I think now i can enjoy the box !

You can try Hola free vpn apk from playstore. It is free and you don't need account to test.

                        LightHome launcher

I was wondering can someone be kind to compile the lighthome launcher that comes with the original firmware to wok with wasser 2.0.5 firmware and also make the xbmc shortcut to work with latest kodi release with an icon change also?
I think that the original launcher is very good .
I do not have the knowledge to do it on my own so that for i kindly request it from you guys !

If you used the second option with lan cable then change in the readbufferfactor from 2.0 to 20.

                                1) is the rom / firmware (Android) and 2) is the kodi version by wasser....
Why don't you want to use the newer 2.0.5 instead of the older 2.0.0?

Of course you can also use e.g. SPMC http://spmc.semperpax.com/ instead of 2)
                                or install them parallel...
