Thanks for the reply. I can't get it to work properly and I've tried setting the refresh rate to 24hz. I have a little 22" Samsung LED TV and it was the same on that using Android but saying that I never tried with openelec yet on the Samsung. It must be just something simple I'm doing wrong surely it should handle 24p properly it has absolutely no problem with 25fps or 50fps video just can't sort out the judder on 24p."HANDS ARE NATURES FORKS" -Rigby

worked like a charm, after i`ve updated using the /storage/.update folder, and rebooting my device, I was able to connect it to my wireless network and even test a 15gb movie through streaming from my NAS.
if you are interested in making another builds for this specific system, i would be happy to help you.
from the output of my dmesg, i was able to find out that my chip is this one :
[ 465.882034@1] RTL871X: cfg80211_rtw_scan, bBusyTraffic == _TRUE
i really appreciate the time youve spent to create this build for me.
for your information, just to update you on anything that could help you improve your build :
- this specific mxq box, has a red led that used to turn blue when the box gets on, and now its only red
- the boot time is a little bit long comparing to other non-working builds (takes like 2 minutes to boot, but it shows every core and memory correctly)
- i will try to use the remote that came with this box (its pretty comfy and simple), and will report the results
again, thanks a lot for your time

There seems to be a different patch already included in 3.10 kernel with the functionality you linked. The error you are experiencing would need to be investigated further.
EDIT: I will include media_build drivers in the next release. That's all I can do.

so after a couple of time testing, searching and trying to make things work, i cant seem to find a way for LIRC to work, i cant install the drivers since there is no way to compile them on the box.. if anyone has any suggestions on how to find it, i would appreciate !
Thanks a lot

I know that OpenELEC 5.0.8 has just been released. Don't worry - it is only a small bugfix for imx6. We'd better wait for OpenELEC with Kodi 14.2 final.
Thanks for 5.0.7 but hdmi and spdif passthrough dd dts aac (5.1) don,t work, just 2.0
edit:
sorry my mistake spdif passthrough works !
Thanks!!!Last edited by mike77; 03 April 2015, 08:59.

And if the same device while on Android & using SPMC (based on Kodi 14.1) doesn't have the same problem that it must be either Kodi 14.2 bug/regression on OpenELEC port/fork bug. Either way it should be looked into.

Add echo ondemand > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor to your autoscript file

Hi again. I have tried my mxq on openelec with a 24p video with automatic frame rate switching on and sync playback off on an LG plasma then tried it again on my Samsung and they played flawlessly but on my 40 inch Toshiba playback is a bit stuttery. I have no idea why but it must be the TV itself and it supports 24hz so I've no idea why it's like that. Maybe the TV just isn't very well optimised for 24hz."HANDS ARE NATURES FORKS" -Rigby
