It's not true. You can play smoothly the 720x576i on Amlogic.

I must by lying then??? It is true if you play on 1920x1080p I have a Pi B and I tried with that on full res and it was fine at a bad fps rate then on 808b Plus full res it stutters. My test is completely true. What you have said is that if you use very low res such as what you describe 720x576i but even then I only have 808B+ and that low res is not present.

720x576i is a res on Mk808b+ but why would you use that, that makes no sense to me. 1920x1080 stutters because mali-450 outputs in High fps where Pi GPU outputs very low at 1080p around 9-10fps

@djnice, @envagyok: I will take a look at the video that stutters and see if I can do something about it.

With the latest build - no, it limits audio channel number to 2. I think the hardware is capable to output multichannel PCM, with 5.1 channels at least. I am testing some changes in Kodi now which might bring us closer to multichannel PCM and HD Audio output. I will release the build if my little testing reveals any progress in that matter.

I have a little issue too.
                I have cec TV, receiver.
When I turn off TV, receiver shutted down, and mxq go standby (not powered off).
After that, when I turn on TV, receiver powered too, but for mxq must use ir controller.
When I turn on mxq the no booting process, after 1 sec there is a menu.
So cec wake up isnt working for me.
Anything else with cec is ok.

I think that the same issue is in MK808B Plus

                    Upscaling

I noticed, the dvd upscaling quality is poor.

This is an example (hdmi capture):

                    Beelink MXQ with Openelec:

                    Samsung BD-F5500:

It's an Amlogic or Openelec fault?

I tried with mx player and kodi, this is the result (both showed the same):

Similar to the Openelec, but with less noise.

This has been discussed here before: to turn on the device, you need to use a remote control or issue a CEC command from your TV - for me (Samsung TV) it means entering CEC devices list and choosing "MBox". I have this on my list of things to look at.

I would say Amlogic's "fault". As you can clearly see, your Samsung device uses some kind of sharpening. I think there is some kind of video enhancement engine in Amlogic SoCs but I don't know how to use it (yet).

                              Please test and report:
                              • multichannel PCM audio
                              • HD Audio passthrough
                              • DTS and Dolby Digital passthrough

For MXQ users: after this update optical output will most likely not work.
I update existing 20150315 version, and absolut no sound. At music,at movies, dts, dolby d, with or without dts-hd, dolby hd passtrough, just silenece.
                              Maybe fresh install help?

No, don't do fresh install, simply downgrade. I will post a new build today evening when I have some more time to test. Thank you for your time for checking!
