Bit of an update on my Ethernet adapter not working in my otg port, I bought a couple of USB adapters to move things around.
I plugged my mini usb Ethernet into the full size usb and it works so then I tried my remote control usb dongle in my otg port and that works to so all is good just using a few adapters but why won't the Ethernet adapters work in the otg port ?

Need some help with some sound problems
I'm connected with HDMI to my tv. From the tv (headphone output) a 3.55 cable to the Samsung sound system to the aux input.
I'm trying to use the analog or the spdi f outputs of the MXQ with no success.
Connected 3.55 cable from analog out of mxq to aux input of the sound system, only 1 speaker works.
Connected a diffrent cable( 3.55 to spdi f a new optical cable) spdi f of the now(with the 3.55 output) to the optical input spdi f of the sound system and no sound.
Tryed the 808b and the hd18q roms and no sound.
I have attached a pic of my bord am_mxq_a 20150825.
Can any 1 tell me where is the audio chip on this bord ??
      I'm lost.
Reading through this and the later posts about it, you haven't made it clear what you're doing when trying to use S/pdif. PatrickJB has stated that the audio output device setting needs to be set to S/PDIF but you've been a bit vague in your response. So, what setting do you have in System>Audio output>Audio output device when you're trying to use optical S/PDIF?

I'm thinking that this is your problem and if it is, I'm sure you'll forgive the direct tone of my post. If you've already tried with the setting changed to S/PDIF, I tried to help but you knew it already. I had to ask tho.

Just checked my Ott mxq box and the spdif output is NOT optical. it's coaxial unlike my red tick beelink mxq. Makes a mockery of my post and provides your answer as you can't connect to an optical input from this box.

I tried using this usb-to-ethernet and indeed latency is much better but speed can only reach 6Mbps which is extremely low.
        ethtool reports 100Mbps link:

It does. I got confused when I mentioned optical. But we were also talking about the analogue output which is the alternative video output and is used for old TV's but also doubles as an audio output. So you use an AV cable but ignore the yellow phono as that's carries the video and you connect the other two phonos to an amp to get audio output. And. if using spdif then I'm pretty sure you have to change "System>Audio output>Audio output device", as sonofdibnah states above, to digital.

Let me clear a few thing first
My mxq spdi f output is not optical, but my sound bar has a spdi f input, so I bout a new cable on the net. One side 3.5 and the other side spdi f.
My audio output settings are aml8/spdi f
              No sound at all.
As patrickjb mentioned I need to try a different cable a/v with 3 rca whit red and yellow (analogue on audio settings).

Just remember what I said that the analogue signal will be slightly delayed this could be corrected with the audio offset function under audio and subtitle settings and making it default for all media. Have you tried enabling passthrough for the digital/spdif output? It's on the audio and subtitle settings page with the audio offset. I'm not sure what this really does but it's worth trying.

Have tried passthrough with no success, no sound at all,
When I first tried analogue , while plugging the cable there was a noise coming out of the sound bar, but when tried the spdi f output there was no sound at all.
Thx for the tip, will try when I get the cable.
Enabling passthrough meens that the audio decoding will be handled by the amp and not by kodi.

Does the otg port run full speed when I plug the Ethernet adapter into it I get between 6-8 meg but plug the same adapter into the full size port and get between 80-90

Hi all and michaelchen : I got the Mxq S85 Beelink, my A/V 3.5 output works normally with a Y/R/W old cable from a N95 8GB Nokia phone. It works, also, with the same cable that came with the box (lesser quality, though). I have nevertheless seen many others have problems with non original OEM cables that can easily be solved trying to exchange cables on the input ( e.g. sound bar or amp ) side: if you have only one channel with R and W connected, exchange the not working one with Yellow cable!
                        Hope this helps!
                        Regards

Shadi86 you should try the hd18q image but it's hit and miss if your remote works afterwards with those clone boxes but it is normally easy to sort out

                          Comment

Shadi86, I think the opposite to jjbull above and think you should try the mxq version first. Can't speak for the board but I have an mxq all black with the EXACT same remote as yours (coloured buttons immediately below the power button) and that's what I use. I suggest you try running from SD card first because you'll retain android on nand if it doesn't work. That way you can play until you find out if jjbull or me is correct with no risk to the box.

Will second trying it on a sdcard first though,I've set up quite a lot of those boxes for friends all have that looking remote but on the most had to put a new remote conf file on the box to get the remote working properly
