Bit of an update on my Ethernet adapter not working in my otg port, I bought a couple of USB adapters to move things around.

Need some help with some sound problems
I'm connected with HDMI to my tv. From the tv (headphone output) a 3.55 cable to the Samsung sound system to the aux input.
I'm trying to use the analog or the spdi f outputs of the MXQ with no success.
Connected 3.55 cable from analog out of mxq to aux input of the sound system, only 1 speaker works.
Connected a diffrent cable( 3.55 to spdi f a new optical cable) spdi f of the now(with the 3.55 output) to the optical input spdi f of the sound system and no sound.
Tryed the 808b and the hd18q roms and no sound.
I have attached a pic of my bord am_mxq_a 20150825.
Can any 1 tell me where is the audio chip on this bord ??
I'm lost.
I'm thinking that this is your problem and if it is, I'm sure you'll forgive the direct tone of my post. If you've already tried with the setting changed to S/PDIF, I tried to help but you knew it already. I had to ask tho.
Just checked my Ott mxq box and the spdif output is NOT optical. it's coaxial unlike my red tick beelink mxq. Makes a mockery of my post and provides your answer as you can't connect to an optical input from this box.Last edited by sonofdibnah; 06 April 2016, 08:31.

I tried using this usb-to-ethernet and indeed latency is much better but speed can only reach 6Mbps which is extremely low.
ethtool reports 100Mbps link:

PatrickJB has stated that the audio output device setting needs to be set to S/PDIF but you've been a bit vague in your response. So, what setting do you have in System>Audio output>Audio output device when you're trying to use optical S/PDIF?

My mxq spdi f output is not optical, but my sound bar has a spdi f input, so I bout a new cable on the net. One side 3.5 and the other side spdi f.
My audio output settings are aml8/spdi f
No sound at all.
As patrickjb mentioned I need to try a different cable a/v with 3 rca whit red and yellow (analogue on audio settings).

Have you tried enabling passthrough for the digital/spdif output? It's on the audio and subtitle settings page with the audio offset. I'm not sure what this really does but it's worth trying.

When I first tried analogue , while plugging the cable there was a noise coming out of the sound bar, but when tried the spdi f output there was no sound at all.
Thx for the tip, will try when I get the cable.
Enabling passthrough meens that the audio decoding will be handled by the amp and not by kodi.

Hi all and michaelchen : I got the Mxq S85 Beelink, my A/V 3.5 output works normally with a Y/R/W old cable from a N95 8GB Nokia phone. It works, also, with the same cable that came with the box (lesser quality, though). I have nevertheless seen many others have problems with non original OEM cables that can easily be solved trying to exchange cables on the input ( e.g. sound bar or amp ) side: if you have only one channel with R and W connected, exchange the not working one with Yellow cable!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Alessandro

Shadi86, I think the opposite to jjbull above and think you should try the mxq version first. Can't speak for the board but I have an mxq all black with the EXACT same remote as yours (coloured buttons immediately below the power button) and that's what I use. I suggest you try running from SD card first because you'll retain android on nand if it doesn't work. That way you can play until you find out if jjbull or me is correct with no risk to the box.
