And I wasn't even drunk! Must have been a little giddy after playing with your Lollipop rom. If you could see how red-faced I was after reading that, you'd laugh.
My appreciation for your efforts is genuine though, no mistake there.

I was attempting to sideload a couple of APK's today but after accepting the package installer prompt, the screen just flickered for a second and then went back to the previous screen.

I have confirmed that unknown sources is checked in settings.

Installing/updating through the Play Store is fine.

Have you tried copying the apps to internal storage and then installing them?
Side-loaded several apps and all installed fine.

Yes they are all on the internal SD in the downloads folder.

I'll flash the image and try again.

Perhaps I have installed something that is blocking installation.

Mo123 I need your help brotha. My computer crashed and I now have no way to update my 3288 box. I notice in your first post you said you can flash this rom in recovery mode. How do I do that? I've extracted the rom and have hph.img file and put it on a micro SD card but when I browse the external SD directory the .img file is not seen anywhere. I haven't been able to update in 5 months now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The funniest thing about this particular signature of mine is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it

                    Is file named update.img?
Make sure SD-Card is newly formatted, fat32.

So far v1.6 is awesome!!! Definitely (IMHO) your best release since v1.3 (of course I never really got to use v1.5 much bc of the TV out scaling issue). Maybe I'm weird but I usually watch TV in the bedroom. Well, usually my son is playing video games on our HDTV in the living room (on xbox one or PC, sometimes watching on my ADT-1, but currently it's not booting fully due to an xposed module I installed. It's not that high on my list to repair) so I keep my R89 where I can use it, and leave the far less capable and less fun ADT-1 in the living room ;-) He is at summer camp this week, but now the wife and baby have taken over the HDTV it seems.

Seriously though, I owe you a donation. I know that I mentioned that before and I am going to donate! Might be a couple of weeks bc cash is very tight at the moment, but I want to give you back something. I've been using your ROMs pretty much most of the time that RK3288 has been released. You are awesome at keeping up to date. I have ROMs out for other platforms and I'm lucky if I remember to check the thread every other month. That is for old hardware though. I am constantly rebuilding, updating, and working on my own newer devices. It's never ending. Always something new to learn and a feature to add, right?

My new toy is a Pipo M9S (basically a P9 with a lower res screen). I really want to get involved in dev for that device (It's so poorly supported and documented! Maybe bc it's new... Not even a full hw description on the chinese pipo site, and no mention at all on the US pipo site) and that crosses over to this platform as well since both are rk3288 platforms.

Anyway, I'm rambling. Just wanted to say thanks! Really looking forward to the LP releases and I hope that someone figures out the tv-out (I can't get it working on Wasser either and that's supposed to be working since beta1).

                      Thanks again and Cheers!

Is there a quick fix that can be applied to make the Connect to PC setting stay at On or is it something that requires more baking deeper in the ROM?

Maybe try tasker to set settings upon bootup or when wifi is on?

There is also a setting in build.prop to set mass storage device.
Not sure how to set 'connect to pc' as 'on' permanently.

                            Thanks.

I'll do some digging into those options.

Early testers with a small donation can test my new stutter-free ROM before I release it this weekend.
